WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO So im back from easter shenanigans with the family and not realised that SHIT I ONLY HAVE A WEEK TO DO LOTS OF STUFF!!!! AHHHHHHHH Plio's Auction, this breeding and foaling all mus occur before the 30th... so prepare for spamage!....

And i know i haven't rolled over yet, im planning to today and this breeding and foal will be in the next season so its only a tiny bit ahead of when you would normally see it!

AND WOOO water colours.... before you read the story please excuse the terrible washing of my usual lining pen.... this was my first try with the waters and i hadn't realised my favourite pen bleeds... so its a bit smudged and smeared but you can still tell its petal and Surprize right??????

anyho... enjoy little breeding story and get ready for the baby!!!! (Hes a fire cracker!)

It had been a special breeding, long planned and hoped for when the stallion had gone up for limited breeding. Loudly coloured he bore the mark of his dam while the sires trademark personality was mysteriously absent for a son of the Halo line.

Surprize had taken well to the travel. The big stallion had been lazing in the quarantine paddock while he settled in, his easy going personality winning over the staff in the first few days. The other stallions were another mater, Lucifer seemed to hate him on sight and we had a hard time keeping him away from our guest. Wish loved him, the little painted boy spending his time along the closest fence, calling out and exchanging neck scratches when close enough.

Finally Petal came into season; Jhon spent the next few days monitoring her non-stop, waiting until the right moment. Then both stallion and mare were scrubbed, cleaned and bandaged for the encounter.

Unlike our other breeding’s this was special. Petal’s fertility issues forced us to be extra careful, every moment was watched. The initial covering would take place in hand and under close supervision.

Surprize was led into the breeding shed, his ears pricked and nostrils flaring as her smell washed over him. Excited he let out a loud call, his sides shaking and tail flagging. Nudging Cavan he tugged his way towards her, a confident sway in his step as he came closer.

Petal rested her head on Frankie’s shoulder, ears twitching as she watched the stallion close in. A short squeal and a small bounce in her hind quarters greeted the splashed stallion when he nibbled on her tail. Petals head came up and she eyeballed him, Surprize focused on his wooing missed the pinned ears as he began to nibble and lick his way along her flank.

A loud squeal and a sharp snap as the mare demanded his attention brought his head up and ears flickering uncertainly. Petal flicked her ears forward again, nose extended as she and the stallion touched. Breathing in each other they paused for a moment before the mare turned back around and the stallion returned to his grooming efforts, rubbing and nibbling along her withers.

Seemingly acquiescent after the introduction Petal lifter her tail as he moved down her body, squatting and peeing before side stepping away and nervously shuffling her hooves. Surprize froze, his lip flipped up and his eyes closed as he sorted out her scent.

Head back down he examined the ground, before sashaying over to the mare, his growing excitement evident to the observers. Swinging around behind her he rubbed his head down her rump, one last lick then seeming to dance in place for a moment he shifted his weight back and with a grunt mounted her.

A great deal of tail thrashing and loud noises later the tired stallion returned to the ground and began to cosy up for some grooming. His ears happily flopping and his pride re sheathed, Surprize began to nuzzled and softly whickered to the dark mare.

Petal however was now over the stallions advances and with a snort and a squeal she dragged a grinning Frankie off towards the door and freedom.

Over the next day the mare was covered several times, both in hand and out in the paddock as the two horses became better acquainted.

When Petal was finally tested as pregnant we celebrated, champagne was opened and the big stallion was given a bag of carrots which he enjoyed almost as much as the attention. Then with some final hugs and for the girls some big kisses the beautiful boy was prepped and sent off back to Canada.

And then we waited.
