I've been using that name soooooo long...everyone knows me by it. LOL! I combined my fav anime with my favorite band (Rush). There is only one other user from some small country somewhere who just started using it-he is not me. I can't even read his posts-know not the language. I THINK he's selling t-shirts or something. But my avatar is Seto and his isn't.
Seto rocks!

I had the female that was given to me by a friend and she gave birth (they have live young -they DON'T lay eggs). Adults average 9 to 13 inches (23-33 cm). They feed on slugs, earthworms and soft-bodied insects.

seto2112 In reply to acfan13 [2010-02-04 22:07:36 +0000 UTC]
They are fairly common in the wild-you sort of have to catch them yourself, the genus ranges from the mid-west USA to the eastern USA. I've never seen them for sale. They are not venomous to humans (that's a very interesting subject which would take more than this space to cover)They are harmless to humans and they rarely bite.

Funny thing those snakes--they like to hide under old paper. I found one in a field with nothing but an old crashed milk carton and there it was under that. My friend often finds them in junk piles. Like junk yard type areas. They seem to like to hangout under paper..that's a bit odd. If you know an area where someone tosses paper boxes into a grassy or parking area-it might be a good spot to look. Moisture also helps considering their food.
Otherwise try a moist area with fallen trees and many worms and/or slugs.

I hope to see a photo of one if you can find one. You might even consider putting out a box or newspaper and let it sit awhile.
Some people putout plywood in hopes of finding snakes under it-it works too. (If they are in your area)
Just make sure you obey your local laws before collecting!!! and never keep anything that you can't care for and/or if it won't eat in a weeks time.
