Description For my wonderful wife on mother's day.

I was experimenting with a number of techniques in this silkscreen - I was looking to create some painterly effects using a softer palette of color and finishing with approximately 20 layers of clear base using the final screen. I then dragged a combination of wax, glycol, and light blue across the relief areas using a putty knife so that it would catch in the recesses to give it the blue tint in the background.

Thanks so much - I really like it...and it is really a departure from my past work. I think I may do more of the same...thanks again.

Pat,
It looks much better in person. (Everybody, this print is beautiful!) Something got lost in the photograph. Lighting on background looks pink instead of white and you can't really see the blue hue. Your ideas are sound and the colors are way different... than black! Ha Ha...
I bet your wife was impressed!

I'll have some different techniques to show you... working on cool things. See you in the studio.

I agree - I think I'm going to try again with different light to see if I can bring more of the colors out...I am almost there with an image for ya....I am looking forward to seeing that project come together.
