First off, I'll run a little poll..... If you think, being as honest as humanely possible, that you would actually buy a print of this, ( give me sheeeeeer honesty here, don't tally if you're trying to be nice. This is also not "hypothetically, if I had the money...." This is really, I have the money and I'm sad it's not for sale ) Put a fear emoticon on your post so it tallies on the vote bar under the picture. If you think the picture is pretty ( or ugly for that matter ) but wouldn't buy a print, put a neutral emoticon on your post so it tallies... Thank You!~~~
This picture is my first of my new character, a greyhound named AE. She is most © me, a course! As for where she is, I'm guessin the Sahara. AE is a sort of devine character, but simple nonetheless... No jewelry sept for the collar, unless otherwise... There, she is lost, for some reason. I worked everyday of last week, plus one day, to finish this, so I'm pretty happy to get it off my chest.
I'm happy with the results, and hope you are too.. The hardest parts were the collar, the fur, and gettin those rocks to look somewhat pleasingly done.Adobe Elements/30+hours ( felt like 50 )
(Edit: I am having trouble getting rid of the blue sky splotches in the save. :/ Please try not to mind it much... )

: D Thank you! Yeah, I kinda suck at starting rocks, so I painted it first like that, locked the transparency, and go from there with the highlighting and shading. : ) I do most everything with painting in layers and locking their transparencies. ( OMG! My secret! xD Lol. Nothin much. ) Thank you much for the comment ^^

Yeah, rocks are pretty tough though :C I can't really take much credit for myself, I usually learn my skills from others. 
Her tuts are pretty helpful, sept she's too afraid to do a fur tut yet

HOLY GWACKEMOLY.
The fur detail is absolutley stunning! I love it! Very fluffy looking xD The shading on the collar (which is teh spiff, by-the-way) is really sweet, too- all defined with shadows and highlights very well ^_^
And the rocks! They friggin' ROCK (oooh man, did I just use a pun there? xD ). They're soooo good! The way there's a yellow colour for the light, and a blue-ish colour for the shadows. Really makes them pop. The texture in the rocks is kickass, matey! 
To put it in a nutshell: AMAZAZAZING

It's been awhile since I did this one ( lol, like... 3 months xD ) And I already see the rocks lacking a little, they are blurry and undefined. :/ And the fur is a little smudgy, and I had no idea how to go about the face. But thank you for describing what you like : ) I'd really like to get better... ^.^ Lots of yours are better colored. ( whoops... used two of the same word too close together ._. )

Really awesome job. There's a werid sand-colored splotch between the collar and the ear. I think you did a great job with this, and I love the textures. It's a very nice picture, and I love it, but I wouldn't buy a print for 2 reasons:
1. I don't buy prints
2. It's not the type of thing I'd hang on a wall. One day, when the art world no longer scoffs at digital art, and whole bunch of people will come and buy prints seriously, people might buy your print. But not me, because it's not the sorta thing I'd hang on a wall. Nothing personal really, it's great art, I just wouldn't hang it on my wall.

i love it! the background is AWESOME and the fur looks for so real and petable ^.^ the eye is just beautiful. one thing to say just because its a random pointless thing i know: a greyhound has special collars they wear. their bigger around the top of the neck and thiner around the bottom. its to keep them from falling off because of their small heads. its nothing against you i swear! just letting you know in case you didnt know because my friend is like ZOMG GREYHOUND and she told me about it....for an hour....
but you really dont need to change the collar at all because AE is divine as you said so theres the answer to my random fact.....(sorry i talk so much but im in a 'cant stop typing mode' because of this essay im writing (and yes i'll try my best to buy this from you hell or high water)

This is really great. ^^ The background and the subject are just amazing.
Just a couple pointers at the anatomy: The neck should connect to the skull just a little higher and the skull should slope down some before it goes down to meet the snout. Also, there should be just a slightly raised bump at the base of the nout where it coneects to the rest of the skull.
Don't get me wrong, this is still an AMAZING picture. xD
My parents... would be what keep me from buying this.
