tangle of threads
like some urban jungle just a little too
empty.
nothing stirs here,
where the roads are,
metal paths
laid down to guide us on our way;
like the tracks of Charon
left in the water,
as he guides us to our final resting place.

The contrast between the rails and the rest of the ground, and the cables and the sky, and the parallel between the rails and the cables really makes the picture for me...
