...But never lands first. The leaf is more patient than the hardy apple, and it always knows that no matter how far it falls and how long it takes to fall it will always be greeted by its brethren or the awaiting ground with open arms. It knows it will never be alone, no matter where it goes.

That is what dear Applejack is reminded of every season, just as the first leaf leaves its tree. She is reminded that she is never alone.

I swear that the cutie mark is the hardest thing to remember... Cutie mark has been added. Sorry 'bout that.

Heheh, I'm such a poet. *slap*

Aye carumba, I worked extra hard on this for ya'all. Though I might consider this as one of the more simple pieces, I can consider it the pic with the most devotion in it. XD And yet, it still has its little errors.
But despite those lil' mess-ups, I might as well consider this as one of my most favorite pieces, mostly because of its realisticness, the success with some techniques, and the sheer message that I subconsciously wanted to show in this.
At first I drew this because of the coming fall season; I wanted to celebrate it, since I tend to enjoy fall. Then I realized that there is more to this pic than what met the eye, and I realized that I subconsciously expressed a memory in this. A few years ago I used to round up my sisters and friends during the falling leaves part of the season and play a game in which we'd catch falling leaves while their still in the air. We've gotten busier and busier, and we've been unable to do that for the longest of times. I miss playing that game. So this idea bubbled up in the memory of those times, and that made me ever more eager to make this even more special for ya'all when I realized it.

So there ya'all go. A little special pic for you guys to enjoy. Next I'm planning on starting the "Ask Tails and Sketch" thing, but honestly, I have no idea what I'll be doin'. We'll just have to wait and see. X3 In the meantime, enjoy!
