So... everybody's been doing this, so... I did it too! Headcanon markings/designs for the Mane 6!

I was going to make one where I changed the colors too, but... I mean... honestly? I like the Mane 6's colors already, and I hate pastels with a passion, so I don't think I will be redesigning them completely.

Every change I could make would really be arbitrary and I feel like eventually, it feels more like I'm designing an OC that has their personality instead of a redesign, and while I suppose that might be the appeal, it's not really appealing to me, so I didn't do it. I would have made them all bright colors, so I feel like that's more a blessing to you guys more than a hindrance.

With both Twilight and Rainbow Dash, I was heavily inspired by because I like her art a LOT. Twilight's design is more blatantly just her design, but I still did try to do my thing to make it more my thing.

Twilight Sparkle:

Just blatantly 's design, with her wings from her Rainbow Power look. Her dark markings are colored like Midnight Sparkle, and the lighter markings are Human Twilight's skin tone.

Pinkie Pie:

Interestingly, this is sort of a recursive design; my friend 's designs for the Mane 6 for his AU story, 'The Elements of Friendship' , are actually based on things I sketched for him on my own and never really uploaded because I never got around to finishing them. That means that his designs are based on mine which I then based mine on again this time. The dark markings are Discord's tail color overlaid on Pinkie's coat, and the lighter are Pinkie's human skin tone.

Applejack:

As always, Applejack is the plain Jane of the group, just having FRECKLES EVERYWHERE and one white patch.

Fluttershy:

This was the one I did first, so long ago I've got to think hard about where I got the colors, but I'm fairly sure I just wanted to make her look like a deer. The dark colors are from her mother's pearl necklace, and the lighter color is.. again, Human Fluttershy's skin color. You may have noticed a trend.

Rainbow Dash:

HEAVILY based on 's design, since I frickin' loved the lightning bolt shoulder thing, but I gave her a diamond patch on her forehead and freckles because her mother has freckles and it gave me an excuse to give her freckles. The dark colors are Pie Hater Dash’s and lighter are her human skin color

Rarity:

Dapples everywhere, a blaze down the top of her head and dusty socks. Colors from Flawless Rarity , an evil Rarity from the IDW comics.
