What I am currently working on. It's a part of a series of pictures of Mufasa and Taka. But this is currently only the third one, I've finished.

Scar's original name was Taka, he was only called Scar after he was injured by a buffalo in a later attempt to frame Mufasa.

Cool! I love the way you drew mufasa, he looks so cute^^ and the colors you picked for ahadi look really nice, I was never a huge fan of the black and bright yellow XD

Me neither xD It maybe worked in writing, but not on paper. It just doesn't seem to fit into the color scheme... And of some reason, it makes be think of a bumblebee xD

Exactly! I always hated black and yellow together on anything, it makes me think of that one stupid song XD My ahadi was an orangie color before too but I didn't like that either I just changed him to a creamy yellow so hes not so "in your face" with the yellow but I just don't know about that either XD

Now I am starting, to get that annoying song into my head, all the time! Thank you! Or not. xD
Mine was.. Yellow, then brown, then orange, and then this more saturates orange color. I think that's how it has evolved here. xD I tend to change my characters a lot. Both in color, but also in other forms of their appearance. That is me never getting satisfied. But creamy yellow sound alright though! But yeah - he's a hard nut to crack, when it comes to designing. xD

Yeah! That I've noticed. Everyone wants their own unique design for him, which often end up in these strange designs. Another problem is the doubt about his character and origin. People tend to disagree whether he's this tough lion, or if he's kind and loving, which also makes his design much more complicated. I've seen lots of drawings, where he resembles Scar a lot.
But yes, you're right. It is limited how much you can do with him, when he also have to fit the description in the book.

Oh yes! I don't believe he was bad at all, just broke too many promises. I think the hyenas influenced scar more to be hateful not his parents but that's only my opinion. like you said evey one wants to be different XD
