I wonder how come the female soldiers are represented with visible face, whereas the male soldiers, msot of the time, wear a headscarf or cowl concealing most of their faces.
Not that it matters much, anyway.

well i was following most works that showed a female soldier along with some male soldiers, and usually they'd have the female show her face more or have more slimming/revealing clothing

I think it is very unrealistic for a female soldier wearing slimming/revealing clothing, because it has done no purpose other than making an easy target for her to be killed, or even worse...raped and then brutally killed. So, any artists who made female soldiers wear reveal clothing are only fulfilling their perverted fantasies.
But this fanart you made...close to realism!!! Though, I have a feeling it's better if she is wearing a headscarf to cover her face like the rest of her male comrades. Just saying!Β
But at least showing her face makes her a bit unique that contrasted her male bretherens!

Β i'd be guilty of lying if i said that i was immune to the appeal of hot sexy chicks with guns, and you have to understand that all that is to attract and appeal to a largely male audience, and realism be damned if it means they get to promote or sell whatever brand, comic, anime, video game,etc. it's a hard nut to crack, breaking the set stereotype of female warriors to be in bikini armor. you have to understand the difficulty of the subject, especially in regards to being able to differentiate in a glance between a male and a female warrior if you gave them the same sort of armor/outfit.
Β it's tough to get that right balance, especially with the modern warrior's look. most soldiers wear near identical uniform and armor and while there are ways of making the men in a squad distinguishable from each other, i'm not going to deny any soldier the right to wear proper body armor just to show some chest. there are plenty of other artists and artwork that would.Β
Β this was done quite sometime ago, and i'm still happily surprised that people still like my older works 
but regarding that headscarf, that's what i was talking about. if i covered her face you couldn't tell she was a woman unless i told you so. go ahead, give it a try
so i had to make a compromise by showing her face. there are other ways of doing so, and other artists who could pull it off. i'm still learning and improving as i go.
Β i didn't see any difference of the sentry being killed by a man or woman then. it doesn't matter. i'm not a feminist, but i do get amused by remarks like "wow that chick took out an entire army/horde/base by herself!" 'why is that amazing?' "because she's a woman!" yeah a guy could have done the same thing and no one would care

So, this is what the world is now, with all this media always using stereotypes...Well, things will change in the future.
If a woman wore men's armor and face mask, and nobody can tell if she is male or female including me, that's fine. As long as she is being badass and fighting, I wouldn't even care what gender she is. There are male soldiers who are skinny and light as women.
I'm no feminist. When you said female soldiers wear slimming/revealing clothing, I just snapped. As a guy, yeah, it's hot to see a female soldier wearing bikini armor, but I always look back at reality and think of what would actually happen to her. Even real-life women who wanted to be soldiers won't be stupid wearing a military equipment that showed off their bodies, unless they are paid actress for a typical action movie.
And a chick fighting an entire army/horde and defeating it? Well, that's something new for the media to appease the audience. A male one-man army is overused anyway. Though, nobody will ever survive a horde alone in real life, unless you are lucky enough. And as proof I ain't a feminist, only males who are strong can defeat a horde.

I never played Ghost Recon Future Soldier, what's it like?

Well, if you haven't already found out about it, I just bought future soldier a few days ago and I am quite impressed with the game. Only thing that seems to be lacking is the multiplayer, however the campaign alone is well worth it in my opinion.
