Description
Another watercolour in my new little sketchbook.Again, experimenting with using graphite and no ink, though with a heavier graphite line this time.

I'm very curious about the graphite technique. Did you refine the colours in Photoshop or some other post-processing? Or is this just a straight scan?
Really nice lines, and marvelous control of the colour. I can never get my lines to be that clear and dark with the graphite/watercolour combination.

Blame my mom and teachers. X) I think puns were a generational thing, and I was far too exposed as a kid.
There was some levels tweaking, but mostly to get it true to life again (I think this done on my old scanner, which was ancient and liked pastel colors).
And thank you! I think part of it was the paper... It was a pretty awful little watercolor booklet that wasn't very good at holding paint. Normally you might have the problem of the water picking up some of the pencil and softening the line, but in this case the paper could barely handle water so I didn't get the chance to put much down. That, or I touched the pencil up after it dried... don't remember...
