I made this for a friend at work who's having a baby boy in early 2012. I know she loves Tinkerbell, but since it's for a boy's room, I thought Peter Pan in general might be a little more appreciated. I think Peter Pan is a wonderful story for all ages. I actually hope to design my future child's room in Neverland-esqe decor.I wanted to keep the Mary Blair style art since she is one of my all time favorite Disney Artists and did some beautiful work for the Peter Pan concept designs. She has a way with making simple images and character still come to life in a beautiful way.

Thanks! I used mostly Acrylics, then some color pencil with some soft pastels (chalk-like texture) Very glad that you like it

I like the texture of it. I have a hard time being patient enough to draw anything of real skill let alone paint. lol But than again I can spend twenty four hours straight on writing. It's all a matter of where passions lie.

This is wonderful hon! You really did the movie justice in this piece! I've always admired people who can look back at their childhoods and not be afraid to draw/paint/sculpt a scene from it. I've taken a look at several other of your Disney-themed pieces and have noticed that you are really talented at what you do. I only have one question; what medium did you use to make this piece?

Thank you! I don't think I've ever really lost the influences of my childhood. They are important to me today as they were then. Very glad you like my work!
This particular piece (as most all of my work) was done in acrylic paints. Then I went over it with some touches of soft pastels....that would be the parts that look a bit like chalk texture.

You're very welcome! I asked because it looked to me like watercolor and colored pencil and I just wanted to be sure before I told you how amazed I was at how you did this ^-^U. Acrylic, from what I've heard is irritating to work with, so I've never really tried it (my art teacher says it dries to fast). I usually make oil paintings (I don't post them because they're bad 
I like the texture that you made with the pastels, it gives the picture an organic feel that really draws the viewer in to try to look for things in the image.

Thanks! I feel just the same about oils though....I work way too fast for them. Acrylic suits me fine for the speed I work at, so I probably know your frustration with the other medium.

I like the book design too, I am actually planning on doing more Neverland scenes in the future closer to the book. Since this one was for a baby's room for mutual Disney-adoring parents, I thought it would fit best.
I am glad you like it though, even if it is a Disney-heavy version
