I'm really happy with how our group decided to do this armor, so I figured a clearer image of it would be nice. All of the panels are vinyl glued over craft foam. They are in turn all glued onto a backing. The whole thing is made up of several parts that are held together with velcro, making it easier to put on and to pack up.This particular set is the one I made for myself. Thanks! We found the fabric at Jo-Ann's, and the craft foam is just the sheets you can find at craft stores. I think they were 2 mm thick maybe.

and did you fold the material around the cart foam to get that nice edge? Or fold the vinyl, and place the pieces on one sheet of craft foam?

Yep, the vinyl edges are folded underneath the craft foam pieces. Those panel pieces are all glued together onto a backing, and the edges of that are covered by the trim.

On the sides is there a gap or is it a solid piece. Like under the arms. Are there straps connecting the front plate and the back or another solid plate.

The front and back pieces overlap at the sides. I just used velcro to hold them together.

These are beautiful! My friends and I are thinking about making our own Kyoshi Warrior costumes for the next ComicCon/whatever event we go to. About how much time/money did you guys spend making your costumes, if you don't mind me asking?

Thank you! We worked on them for about three or four months, but that was with plenty of breaks thrown in. As for the costs, I honestly don't remember. We made almost two years ago and had bought the supplies here and there, so I didn't keep track of it as well as I should have. Sorry for the late reply!

what sort of glue did you use to glue the vinyl to the craft foam? I am attempting the same thing and the glue isn't holding on the felt backing of the vinyl. It just gets absorbed right into it!

That's really well done. Very tidy (your edges are beautiful!) and it preserves the iconic simplicity of the animated design.
What glue did you use?

Thank you very much! I think the glue we used was 3M Super 77. I also used Barge's Rubber Cement between the edges of the panels and any corners that the 77 didn't take care of the first time around.
