Back at Anime Detour this year, my boyfriend and I were talking about possible Avatar costumes I could make in time for ACen for him. We decided on Sokka's outfit from the episode called "Sokka's Master."

Making the mockup of the jacket took the longest. The actual sewing I started a couple of weeks before the convention with most of that time spent on the trim. I finished it a day or two before I left for the con. Not shown in this photo are the pants I made for it. I also made Sokka's water color painting since didn't have enough time to make the sword. Painting crappy on purpose was a lot of fun! So much fun in fact, that I made two copies in case something happened to one of them. I still need to make the little fire symbol he wears in his hair for the next con.
