Description

Having had enough of the 5 years of residential life after his manifestation, Spike, a humanoid manifest, decided to hit the road and run free, embracing the homeless nature he already had into some more nomad. After thriving in the brand new alien world for essentially a few weeks, Spike gets ambushed by a Blighted, resulting in him having to take refuge in a cliffside crevice. Burrowing into the terrain to reach him, the agitated Blighted claws its way towards him, leaving Spike at a dead end. When the Blighted breaks through into the opening, it is blasted by an energized pulse and shutters in place from the paralyzing surges. From behind the hulking fungus, Rook stands, brandishing his stasis blaster, shouting for Spike to move, prompting the athletic humanoid to roll out from a suddenly animated fungus as it crushes a hulking hand into the ground in an attempt to attack.
In the ensuing attack, Spike athletically saves Rook from a near crush from the monster, hopping onto its back and wrangling it into an indiscriminate frenzy as it tries to fling Spike off of its back. Keeping the fungus monster occupied, Rook grabs a fabricated smoke bomb and rips it into activation and crams it into the Blighted mouth, forcing a retreat as it burrows into the ground in escape, leaving an exhausted Rook and Spike to finally meet face to face.
