I love how pointillism makes these buildings seem like they are in an ancient photograph. It's such an appropriate style for the landscape. Wouldn't you agree?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

thedotman In reply to StevenJSBowcott [2009-09-05 06:14:47 +0000 UTC]

I do agree. Some of the textures aren't exact, but, I have developed my style to show you the difference in stone, water, trees, etc.

Wow... **stares** In the thumbnail, one could easily swear it's a grainy photograph... So much fantastic detail, not least of which is that awesome reflection... I'm awed by the stonework--the way you've given each stone space and texture in the walls--I also love that we see reflected light, up under the eaves of the roof, and inside the building, through the windows...fabulous! Wonderful handling of what appears to be rather harsh light, too--just an amazing piece!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

thedotman In reply to carlotta-guidicelli [2008-08-14 07:44:39 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. It takes about 20-30 hours to draw (or dot) a picture 10" x 8". The larger A3 size takes about 100 hours.
Time goes really quickly when I draw because I get drawn in to the picture. I love it and love comments like yours.
Thanks again.

I'd have to say, this is probably my favourite piece you have done so far. The composition is great and the reflection in the water is brilliant aswell.
