Even though the pistol seems to be a Colt .45 ACP, the recoil seems to be too much. Also, the recoil affects the arm only, whereas it would also affect the torso.
If you look at this video of a woman shooting a .45 ACP SIG, watch how the pistol flips up, and also the recoil transfers from hand, to arm, to torso.

thx, a good reference...I will concede that my recoil is exaggerated, but in my animation she is firing one handed, as opposed to the two handed grip in the video. Having fired a 45 myself both one handed and two handed I can tell you that the recoil is quite different between the two. Thx
