I would recommend you to resume working on it, since it is better than the other one. (But thats just me.)

Great flow, but the deviantART tag underneath clashes a bit. I love how the skewed perspective makes it look like a piece of abstract art (I would say it almost resembles a helmet).

Have you thought of another entry without that top part? Top part makes it look bit like snail and it feels bit unnecessary. It could work without it. Or make top part slimmer, so it wouldn't feel so heavy.

Putting things at an angle like that makes the 'd' seem far away, which suggests the 'deviant' in 'deviantART' is being taken away
Also; you made the A lower-case, kinda misrepresents the actual name of this place.
It does look good though, and I imagine it wouldn't look as good with an A.

This is very sleek and clean. I'm not sure how bad they want "deviantART" as opposed to "DeviantART" but I would go with the lowercase "d" instead. The font choice is meh. I like the logo concept. The angle is a bit extreme but meh.
Other than that, this is an awesome concept.

I hope you can take some constructive criticism:
that's a very extreme perspective. your actual 'da' graphic is very pretty, and looks like it would flow well without the perspective skewing it. but there's no balance at all in this logo dude. the deep perspective makes the logo sit uneasy in an avatar/square. and your 'DeviantArt' type looks wrong laying flat below the skewed dA. The type you've used for "DeviantArt" doesn't suit style of your flowing logotype.

Yea over the past day I've realized the same things you're talking about. Actually not sure of this entry at all anymore really. Still a little over a week remaining. I got time, I'll do some new stuff. Although it looks like all of the entries are starting to get saturated with all the same stuff. IDK if this is really worth my time.

this is probably the best looking one i've seen so far.. but,
i have a major problem with the bottom of the inline of the a (i guess, beginning the stroke). it just stops abruptly, flush with the side of the other inline that's ending the stroke, whereas in the outline of the a, it curves and smooths off. the inline and outline are going in different directions, and throw me off. i feel you should smooth it up somehow, either rounding it off, mirroring the outline, or smoothing it up more into the ending inline stroke. that just really catches me, doesn't look right.

I vote this one so far after looking at all the half assed attempts (I never said I could do better) at a dA logo this one made me click on it and I actually liked what I saw.
I say you get the $2500.

Hey exellent entry. Shapes and concept are both solid and very well executed. I like the fact that you took the risk of playing with perspective.
There's something about it... I read the "a" before the "d". Maybe this isn't wrong at all because deviantART is more about "ART" than "deviant", do you feel me? But how about, keeping that exact same perspective, but leaning the "d" to make it face the viewer, so you would have the logo on a curved plane: "d" frontal, "a" in perspective.
As for the typography, I visualize it with something more rounded, but keeping vertexes angular, just like the "da"

I really like the flow on this one. Makes the new logo we have right now seem less like a snowboard/skate company logo.

that is one great looking logo!! the perspective is a fantastic touch and finishes it nicely.
just the font choice that, for me at least, doesn't quite fit because of it being straight edged against the curves. plus its a bit plain just having italic typography.

Yea I totally agree with you regarding the type. I honestly don't like it at all. I threw it in quick, and you won't see it tomorrow. I didn't submit this as a "final" or anything like that. I will be updating THIS specific deviation as I make adjustments to the logo.
Sans the typography, everything else is pretty much set. Changes to the logo itself will likely be minimal.
