Description Alternate title: Β "Wu Wei-What-Now?"
I discovered a technique for the corners in this one that could have some pretty cool applications. Instead of erasing them from the background, I set the background layer type to Multiply and created a white layer underneath, then erased the corners in the white layer. Β This allows you to hide the artwork on a layer without destroying it. Neat, right?

Big Macintosh: Zen and the Art of Apple Bucking

Moar, Moar, Moar! I love these.

Plus, where are you looking up the sayings?

That constant problem faced by Zen practitioners: is she still actually meditating, or has she just fallen asleep?

Funnily enough, the lotus-position was created to prevent people from falling asleep while meditating. Β If you had to twist your legs in such a way, you wouldn't be able to fall asleep either.

That's not terribly far from a haiku. Let me see...

Sitting quietly
Doing nothing, the signs come
The fruits grow themselves

Fixed.

I'm just loving these words of wisom. Once you've finished with the Apple family, do you think you might do these for other MLP characters?

I doubt it, unless I get an incredibly amazing idea that I absolutely have to draw, or maybe if someone offers to commission one. It's not that I haven't had ideas for other characters, I just have other projects in the pipeline I'm itching to get started on. I mentioned the next one in my latest journal entry, if you're interested.

If you used photoshop, you could do the same thing by hitting the Layer mask button

I could. But Gimp is free, and it probably has a similar feature buried somewhere in there.

I LOVE this so much... and they DO grow by themselves... all strange things that do their "thing" on their own come from the Everfree Forrest. SO appropriate

*applauds* Awesome work
