This is still work in progress, but I was having a play around and thought I would show where I have got to.I have not always been clear about Amanda's age and the timeline around her adventures. The regular Amanda that we see at University is 20-21 years old. Her misadventure with Professor Schnell is when she is 20, whereas in Outfoxed she is a slightly older and wiser 21.
Meanwhile Amanda's younger years , where she attends St.Hilda's boarding school and is an amateur detective are set at the tender age of 16-17.
The point struck me that the two Amandas were up to five years apart in maturity and naturally quite different in appearance. So it seemed a nice idea to try and fill the gap a little bit and show what Amanda was like at the 'in between' age of say 18, in the Summer after leaving St.Hilda's and before heading off to Harvard to start her adult studies.
This all gave me a great opportunity to play with Morph sliders and set them at the exact midpoints between Young and Normal Amanda. The result is what I am currently calling 'Intermediate Amanda' for want of a better description.
Having escaped the structure and rigor of an all-girls school, Amanda now has tousled hair and a more casual look as she sets off on her summer travels. The holidays will see her head off to Europe for some typical misadventures before hopefully heading in one piece to Boston for the start of term. I have a few ideas for where she might go and what she might get up to... but I am of course always open to your suggestions!
I would love to hear what you think of 'Intermediate Amanda' (and please, if you can think of a better name than that, suggest it!) especially her hair and outfit. The hoodie is a key part of this, but I have been playing around with various tops and shorts to get the right ones. Keen to hear what you think of the ones in the picture.

I have a question.
I want to buy a new 3-D Sofware to create characters like you do.
I have some experience in Poser 5 but i want to reach a new level of quality.
I want a programm that can render humanoid characters, like you do, but it should be not too complicated.
The software should make it possible, to render Models by using "Photo-to-Face" Options (using a frontal and side-view from a person to convert it into a 3-D model).
Also, the software has to be good enough, that i don't have to buy "extra-models" like in DAZ.
I would like to stick to Poser.
Which software would you suggest to me.
I would appriciate, if you could help me out.

I am so sorry, I am really not the expert! I am still using Daz Studio 3.1, that I downloaded for free in 2010. I am four years out of date! I know that Daz Studio 4.7 just launched and is very powerful (if you have the hardware to match) - and it's also free. Maybe you want to give it a download and a try? I don't know what comes with it though, and what you have to pay for. Poser, the model is different, you pay for the program but get a lot of free content. About photo-to-face, this I don't know - maybe there are plugins out there. Good luck!

"Finally legal" Amanda would tell her age but also implies things that do not describe her... so "Intermediate Amanda" shall suffice. She looks comely, as always! At 18 she seems to have been experimenting with her restless, rebellious nature somewhat. It does add realism to the character for her to have different stages in her life. As a human being she began as an embryo, grew into a woman and if she survives, she'll be an old woman with amazing stories to tell. You have our favorite lass by the hand and are guiding her well.

As for ideas about changes to the outfit - perhaps some classic running shorts instead of the denim?

Interesting that you mention that. I did try some but they don't go with the tights. Denim is definitely Amanda's 'thing'.

Hmm... Would it be possible to ditch her stockings? I kinda figure those are for folks who are ashamed of their legs or trying to cover up blemishes or imperfections

Ditching Amanda's tights - no way. And perhaps she is a little ashamed of her legs. As I mentioned in an earlier post, she has been inside studying for the last year and now, when it's time to go travelling, she feels self-conscious of her pasty white skin.
I really don't think the Jennifer Aniston haircut suits her at all (it really it interesting and funny what you guys come up with!) and I would be more likely to try a cut like that on someone like Ciara.
As for girls vs women, well, Amanda is a girl! If you want women, Penelope, Nicole, Charlotte are all adult and well on into their 20's/early 30's. And if you like professional women in suits, you have Dawn AND Penelope.
I really don't want to turn Amanda into something she is not. While I agree with all the nice things you're suggesting, they are just not Amanda at all! Sorry, I dunno why, but things just either seem 'right' for her or 'wrong'. Sometimes I feel that she's just a person I know and has a mind of her own about these things.

It's a nice contrast to her proper St. Hilda's look and she does seem to be in transition to college. Consider me another fan of the hair plus nice outfit as well,

A great transitional look for her. The return of the shorts and tights and a hint of the future top of choice. Love her hair too

Glad that the hair in particular has a vote of confidence. Yes, this is the first age at which she has started to wear shorts with tights. While there is nothing wrong with her bare legs, Amanda is a little self-conscious about her rather pasty, untanned skin. She has been inside all year trying to get to the top of the class!

Nothing wrong with bare legs at all but it's sometimes hard to think of Amanda never wearing them, they're such a staple of her wardrobe and they make her legs a 10+ lol
