Kingdom of the Wolf? Den of Fenris? Yow, if this is the same map you get with the book I have GOT to buy this one.

It has ice maiden cold hearted fey, jotuns and rune magic too. It's a cracker - definitely worth picking up a copy.

Another beautiful map, as usual dude.

I am envious that you can create something so good in only 8-10 hours. That might seem like aeons to someone like Gamerprinter but to me it's like knocking one out in a cigarette break or something. Hehe. I'd still be stressing over the coastlines. :S

The commissions certainly force me to limit the time I work on them. I'd guess 8-10 is still a touch optimistic but I don't think it's far off.

I don't know how GP does them so fast, but I know I can't hand draw much more quickly than I do now!

I'd love to be able to buy a hi-res print of this.

I've sent you a note about that. We should be able to work something out with that.

Beautiful as usual, man. Your mountains are consistently awesome, every time.

Thanks - they took a little while to nail down, but I love how they turn out now.

That is a very impressively drawn map, and I agree about the mountains. The rivers in the south might be a bit excessively winding, but that's a minor beef.

Thanks I usually get criticised for having rivers that are too straight so I'll take that critique. Hopefully I'll get the balance right next time.

I find that if I use fractal lines for rivers, I get pretty realistic results.

But you're welcome. I can't paint a map to save my life. hehe

I've always been a big fan of your maps and style Torstan and you certainly don't disappoint with this one! It's beautiful.

I really like the weight you've given to the mountains. They make me think of giant snow dunes rising high from the snow below. Beauty, Power and Danger.

Do you know how long it took?

torstan In reply to WorldBuilding [2011-04-19 21:50:47 +0000 UTC]

Probably about 8-10 hours I think. I didn't keep track too carefully. Glad you like it - the mountains were fun to do, and as it's a land of sharp fjords the mountains were an important feature.

Aye, keeping time tracked on creative projets can be difficult but that's a pretty good time scale
