Given that the target audience for Superman is also a fan of boobs, Supergirl took way too long for them to come up with. I am forced to assume that they simply had trouble finding a way for it to make sense given his backstory.

Seconded. I mean, the proportions are still ridiculous, but that's just comic books being comic books.
The fact that you immediately notice there's no boob window or "absolute territory" (skin exposed between skirt/shorts and socks/boots) is depressing specifically becauseΒ you immediately notice it.
Le sigh.
On a somewhat related topic; forget the exposed skin, those baby blues are freaking amazing. Just look at them! And that smile! Huh, now I won't be able to look at OG Superman without remembering this... Damn it, have you made me GAR for Supes?!

********Silly parody script about to commence********
Β
Superman felt completely rejected by mankind. He flew to the north pole. Knowing he no longer had any way to communicate with the artificial intelligence that was his father he cried out.
Β
"I need you dad!!!!!"ear
Β
Suddenly an old man wearing a white outfit sporting a black "S" on the front appeared in front of Superman as a ghost. The old man had silvery white hair.
Β
"My son I heard your plea. How can I help you?" The ghostly figure said in a raspy voice.
Β
"Ummm...who?" Clark mumbled.
Β
Β "I am your father from another dimension where people loved you, and frankly, you wore a much less dark grungy outfit."
Β
Clark's eyes watered. "Oh that sounds wonderful. I wish I go go to someplace like that. A place where people have never heard of 'Dawn of Justice' or Batman."
Β
"Granted, but I can't guarantee no Bats."
Β
The entire world felt like it was twisting and folding upon itself. Clark also felt his body compress with some areas growing while other parts of his body were strangely shrinking. Finally things settled down and immediately things were noticeably not the same.
Β
"WHAT????? I'm a woman now? SUPERWOMAN?"
Β
Clark (now Clara) could not reach the ghostly figure who did this to her. She at first hated the idea of being female, but everyone in her new world loved her and thought of her as a true hero, and her outfit looked much better than it had been. Clare Kent had a great job as a news reporter and had plenty of time to save the world. Superwoman flew high into the air and smiled.
Β
****************** End of scene *******************
Β
My mind tends to create stuff like that when I see great art like what you gave done.

SailorDolly In reply to Der-groBman [2016-04-24 03:59:02 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, Red Kryptonite can do just about anything as long as it wears off within a few days--the only restrictions are that each piece has the same effect on all Kryptonians, and no piece can affect any particular Kryptonian more than once.

Der-groBman In reply to SailorDolly [2016-04-24 05:06:08 +0000 UTC]
This kinda makes me wonder just how kryptonite actually works. I mean, first you have the classic green variety which weakens/poisons kryptonians, red which does whatever it wants because Fuck you that's how, and then we get the weird ones like pink. And that's all I'm gonna say about pink kryptonite.

SailorDolly In reply to Der-groBman [2016-04-24 06:48:30 +0000 UTC]
Official technobabble dating back to the pre-Crisis era says that Kryptonite only harms Kryptonians, and only within a non-red-sun environment, because its radiation passes right through non-super-powered flesh without interacting (like neutrinos passing through most normal matter without interacting), whereas when Kryptonians are super-charged, their cells absorb the radiation and are damaged by it. The reason for Red Kryptonite being able to do whatever-the-plot-demands is however still unexplained.

modmyths In reply to SailorDolly [2016-04-25 03:44:01 +0000 UTC]
There was at least one instance where Red Kryptonite (pre-crisis) did affect humans. Β Lucy Lane (Jimmy Olsen's girlfriend and Lois' sister) had touched a box of Red K in the Fortress of Solitude. Β It gave her Superman's powers. Β However, it also set Superman up as a "puppet", so that whenever Lucy used her powers, Superman used the very same powers against his will. Β He had Jimmy give her a potion that took away her powers, but, of course, didn't tell Jimmy the reason why...
