Hmm, I haven't been on deviantart for so long! I have a lot of pictures to see
*googles birds at Lake Leschenaultia* that's a purple swamphen apparently, what a beautiful bird! I like how the background is light blue, and the bird is just so .... blue... as well. And the eyes, wow, the Indian Hornbill has eyes like that too.

Really nice picture, dude!

That's the bird alright - It made a crazy bird call though, it sounded like it was dying

Thank you very much my friend - I hope you're doing well

Yup some birds make the most horrible noises! But the funniest birds are wild rose-ringed parakeets, when they talk to each other they sound so human - like they having a regular conversation. Smart little birds, you can hear them sqwak their heads off, but are really hard to see.
You are welcome - I'm doing great, but feel like I'm going to wilt in the heat hope you're doing well and the weather is better at your side

Stay inside with the aircon - We have a bird over here which is called a Kookaburra, also known as the laughing bird. They sound like a long loud human laugh, it's amazing

The weather is lovely here considering it's "meant" to be winter - Night 20-24 degree days and sunny

We do exactly that But cooped up in one room for too long, I've been feeling like a little mole actually. There isn't much to do here in the summers I guess! Oh and yeah, I know about the kookaburra. An even more amazing bird is the lyrebird. It's a really clever mimic, it can even imitate the kookaburra check out this video [link]

I'm really missing winters now Here the temp's soaring to 45 degrees Celsius and above. Today it's better though!

We get hot 40-45 degree days too in our summer, but thankfully it's winter now - It's nice to have colder days for a change

and OMG that bird is so awesome - It does sound just like a Kookaburra

I'll forever be a dark and gloomy winter person it's just unfair winters and summers are always unevenly divided!
And yeah that lyrebird is just so cool, I discovered it while making an assignment for zoology. I put a similar video of it as part of my presentation "Bird Vocalization" and blew my teacher's mind. I got full marks

Hehe, that's awesome - Considering I've always lived in Australia... I've never seen / heard of them

Now it's my goal to find one

There's a couple of lyre birds at the Adelaide Zoo. They're supposed to be pretty shy birds in the wild. I don't have a clear idea of where wild ones are found in Australia, so good luck finding one!

Now I have a good reason to go to the Adelaide Zoo

They don't have wild ones in WA unfortunately - I will see one ONE day

Hehe, that's a good way of doing it - We turned to walk away when we heard the noise... We thought the bird was getting killed, it was horrible
