I painted this up last weekend in an unhappy state... nothings really changed since then, but I am inexplicably feeling a little better. At least school has started going better for me, that's something to smile about, yah?

That line of Alameda haunts me too... every now and then I seem to stumble across songs that perfectly sum up my life, and Alameda is definitely one of them.

Really nice work! I love the foreshortening on the man in the picture--it seems to accentuate his gloom, along with that long, lonely shadow.

its named for an Elliot Smith song that the quote in the description is from Alemeda is a street in Portland, the city where Elliot Smith was from... and its only two hours away from where I live

The perspective is nice, and the concept is cute~ The detail in the color is esp. good. Also, I like how you steered clear of the mainstream anime style. Can never tell with names like usagisama, which btw is super cute~

Thanks, that angle is seriously tough... I still didn't get it quite right, but I'm still reasonably content with the results anyway As far as anime style, most of my other work is a little more typical... though I like to think I still bring something a little different *maybe?*

I think that a lot of your stuff is def. anime, but it is different. I wouldn't call any of it mainstream anime, esp. not this.
And you're not supposed to tell anyone that you didn't get the perspective exactly right, you're supposed to say that it is amazing and you totally planned it like that.

Eh, sometimes just getting it off your chest a bit helps. Plus art is kinda therapeutic too (or frustrating, I'm guessing it was the former in this case though).

Truly, this image was rather therapeutic... drawing unhappiness almost seems like a way to exercise one's own feelings...

High angle shots are so tricky cause its a view of people we rarely see in day to day life... unless you happen to be 12 ft tall As for the jacket, its based off of a sweet corduroy jacket I got at a used clothing shop... easily one of my favorite finds
