BIO

"Something?"

Eric Goldwin was admittedly a little short on patience.

"Another monster?"

"Yes." The captains almost rigid response was not all that surprising, he had talked like that since he walked in.

"Two men were out flying over Osaka bay, when they saw, from a distance, mind you, a two monsters fighting each other. One, described as a 'dinosaur with spines' and another as a 'dinosaur with spikes.' Needless to say, they flew closer."

Eric felt a little confused over the rather vague style of speech the captain was so effortlessly spilling out of his mouth.

"And...they saw one was Godzilla?"

"Precisely."

"And...they fought each other to the death.... Godzilla apparently won, right?"

"That's right."

"All right then."

It was the the captains turn to look confused. He then did something strange that Eric couldn't help but notice. He suddenly slouched his back a little and looked at Erics face, reading with a confused scrutiny.

"I thought you'd be a little more...excited...to know this. Is something wrong?"

"Nothing really. I just thought YOU'D be a little more, you know, revealing, about it."

The Captains former rigidity seemingly returned, if in form only. His face looked almost pained.

"A lot of the details are classified information."

"Then why the crap are you here?" Eric couldn't help but but blurt that out a little loudly. "So you could NOT tell me classified information?! What's your purpose? Tell me."
The Captain looked a little surprised, but not much.
"Wow. I was actually hoping you'd do that."

"And I'm supposed to believe that? Answer my question."

"Fine." The Captain stood up suddenly, giving off the impression that he was going to leave. Eric became even more confused.

"You want to know why I, Captain Tatsuo Ayasake, am here? I'll tell you. Depending on your answer, I may be able to reveal more information to you. A LOT more."

"Okay, I'll bite. What is it that you're here for?" Eric said, glad to be told anything.

"G-Force sent me. They've seen you, and what you can do. And they want you."

"What?" Eric needed to make sure that he really just heard this Japanese man clearly.

"I'm here to recruit you into G-Force. If you accept, I can tell you everything I know." The loose demeanor Tatsuo showed a minutes ago was back. "I sense a kindred spirit in you, and I think you could stand to learn what it is that I have to say. So, will you join? Of course, we are prepared to cover everything, your alibi for leaving, your explanation to family, or whatever you need." The captain began to ramble, and Eric saw fit to stop him before he could change his mind.

"Is the pay good?" Eric couldn't help but ask.

"Good enough for a U.N. funded organization. You won't go hungry, I guarantee it."

"You didn't need to answer that. Of course I'm in. I've wanted to get away from the life I've had for a while, you see. And monsters, at least, the two I've experienced, have me gripped in interest I can't escape from. I'd be stupid to turn you down."

Tatsuo seemed satisfied with that. He suddenly appeared a lot more jovial. He suddenly started speaking.

"Alright, Anguirus and Godzilla were-"

"Slow DOWN!" Eric had to blurt out. "From the beginning."

"All right." Tatsuo said, with an excited smile on his face. "From the beginning...."

From the Notes of Eric Goldwin

When one wants power, one will take it. Then it just comes down to how big the power in question is. Now, the best way I find to remove those who long for power. . . is to give them power. A lot of power.

-Leed

One who earns his reputation is often remembered longer than one who bought it. Perhaps, in any regard, there is no greater example of this than the Anguirids that have appeared twice to mankind. Proud beasts that fought against foes of all sorts, alien and earthly alike, it could be called the kaiju underdog. But, there is one than one way of looking at the Anguirids that emerged, from 3 different kinds of eyes.

From the eyes of man, Angilas specifically was a mystery. To the Japanese, Gojira was the only existant monster, and it was all they needed. The fact that another, even bigger Godzilla existed was bad enough a revelation, but the fact that another, completely different monster existed and was fighting it? Now that's a spirit breaker. . .

At first, scientists simply classified it as a monster like Gojira and Godzilla, but later on theories developed with the rise of kaijuology. There's been a whole swarm of controversy, but observation of the second Anguirus, (the first met a horrid fate at the hands of the Simeon's Mechagodzilla in 1974) shows purely herbivorous behavior, though many would wander why a creature would possess such a predatory looking snout if it never uses it. It goes against the theory of evolution in almost every conceivable way, which eliminated the possibility of a natural origin. Of course, that was only the beginning of the mystery.

Now, groups capable of making monsters, such as Red Bamboo and SCALE, were not around in the 50's, so there were no true leads. . . until Moll and Lora offered an explanation. Though they had no conclusive details, they did have a story their parents passed down to them from ancient times.

According to legend, the Elias came to earth on the wings of a great moth in times unknown, and for a time, they existed happily, until 'demons' came from the skies bringing horrifying monsters with which to conquer the young world. Apparently, these demons fought the Elias in a grand war, the demon beasts against the power of the earth the Great Guardian left the Elias to use in his stead. Though over time the demons grew smarter, creating beasts capable of turning the earths energy right back at them. It seemed the war would be lost, until, as the story goes, one of the demons changed sides, and blended the energy with the beasts to create an army of beasts to fight the demons with their own tactics. Moll and Lora know not the exact facts, but the Anguirids were supposedly a weapon created to fight the 'demons' off. Now, this explains some things, but there are unanswered questions, which leads to the final source, the 'demon' himself.

I met Leed in 2015, kept under GDF lock and key. Though his visage was human, he claimed to be the same kind of creature that spawned Shiigan, Visitor, Barugaron, and Orga. Yes, the race we called 'Millenians' came to earth in ancient times, and according to Leed, studied the DNA of the planet to their content. What fascinated them most was the diversity of earth, but their tampering drew the ire of the Elias, substitute guardians of the planet. Leed, however, grew to disapprove of the fanaticism of his kind and joined the Elias, creating beasts capable of wielding mana as a weapon to fight the Millenian terror monsters. One specific creature was the energy draining Vagnosaurus, a fleshy creature capable of draining energy through it's tail and tentacles. To counter this, Leed used his knowlege of DNA with the Elias biotechnology to blend several 'tough' dinosaur breeds together, and filling it with power over mana.

The war was won by the Elias, leaving the remaining Millenians in deep sleep, save Leed, who had somehow been brought to the present day via our tampering with time in 2001. (Project DT) Supposedly Moll and Lora, still sleeping themselves since the last great threat to earth arose, awakened an Anguiran near the Aleutian islands in order to combat a beast with abilities remarkably similiar to the Vagnosaurs it was birthed to fight, Godzilla.

Given the origin, it is quite surprising how out of character Angilas behaved after being defeated by Godzilla. Considering his genetic 'programming' he practically turncoated over to Godzilla. It's spotty, but I believe that Anguirus fought alongside Godzilla after they both really wanted the same thing, a safe earth for them to live in. Though direct study of the first Anguirid is spotty (though he did spend 8 years comatose in Osaka Bay) the fact that there was a second one ready to rise when needed. . . indicates there may be many left behind.

Thanks.

Well, there really is no difference, until a few years ago there was no clear choice for the name, Anguirus became the name in the 90's if I recall.

Since their are two Anguirans in Go G, I had to find a second name to better tell them apart. And I'm not all that fond of just adding a one or two to the end, so I chose Angilas, one of the old name ideas, to be the original one. The seconds in season 4.

This looks very good. It's a good mix of the old-school Anguirus and the more modern anklyosaur inspired version.

Yes, especially since the neo version caused people to have to choose sides. I personally like both ideas, so I tried to find a way to blend them together.

Yeah, that's how most designs work.

The head is pure win! Increasing that dragon-ish character that Ang here always had and making him look like a predator.

I notice that you switched his thagomizer out again. I swear, his tail get's more design abuse then half the kaiju I know! lol Second only to his head and front legs which are almost always made to look ankylosaur.

All and all, I like this version of him, though the "elbows" look a little stiff to me, making it a bit hard for him to rear up onto his back legs.

Yeah, I admit I like the old elbows better myself, but this angle made that hard to go for.

Now the head, that I'm proud of.
