Combination of raiding spare parts from my other planes and just sheer boredom. If I am bored and in the modeling mood, I can do things rather fast. Been doing a lot of refining since this pic was made, to get things smoother. Next update will probably show some basic textures and other minor details such as weapons hardpoints. Also need to modify the engine exhaust to show the multiple pulsed-detonation tubes for the PDE augmenter.

They also help stabilize the ride if you must pursue a bandit at low level. Just like the "Ride Control Vanes" on a B-1B.

Initially it had two tails, but I don't really like how it turned out so I modeled it with a single tail. The single tail actually ended up working better for the design, since the base of the tail gives me tons of room for fuel and additional electronic systems. A single tail also should have lower drag, since this aircraft is intended to cruise at Mach 2.

The drawing was actually a single tail also, at least the one I uploaded here. The twin tailed version I never scanned, cause I couldn't get it to look right. Plus, I see it as a nice change since most all of my combat aircraft have twin tails
BTW the tail is like that of the RA-5, SR-71, and XB-70 in that the whole tail moves for yaw control. This is more efficient at the high speeds this aircraft cruises at. Also gives better directional control at low speeds.
Also I am surprised no one noticed the dual chin pod from my F-14E
