Love the composition on this piece. The eye travels on a path from the boat with the man standing in it on the right down the line of boats to the wonderful architecture of the structure with the spires and onto and onward across the bridge and rolling hills beyond. A lovely visual journey of a different place one rarely gets to see.

It looks like a photomanipulation, and it's got a retro feeling. Really, it looks like an amazing looking postcard... Something mid-way between modern (the bridge) and ancient age (the building on the left, which i'm sure i've already seen in a photo by you). And the clouds are very scenographical as well. The one thing i'd change is the underexposition of the fisher on the right...? But nothing else. I like all the rest.

You are right! The fisherman standing in his boat was underexposed a lot so that this is as much as I have saved with the Shadow/Highlight tool of Photoshop CS...

Thank you so much! I've used Photoshop CS's Shadow/Highlight tool to balance under-/over-exposed parts (Amount and Tonal Width sliders) and to bring out the clouds (Radius Slider). Then I have applied the Sunshine effect from Nik Color Efex plug-in set.

ahh yess horray for the D-70..another amazing preformance. Great photo looks almost like a painting.
but why is the left side of the building much whiter than the right? PS effects? lighting? Just curious
