So loving this shot! Beautiful detail of the buildings and a great choice on the b&w! I think the man standing in the street completes the shot, adds a human touch!

Well, there is a lot of shadow/highlight effect but you may see a more moderate version here: [link]

Diger versiyonu hafif donuk, bu da biraz sert, ikisinin ortasında bir& #351;ey tekrar ayarlanabilir mi acaba?
Ama tercihim ikisi arasinda tabiki bu

ack!!! we must get you a print account!!
this is one awesome picture... i just love pictures with buildings and streets like that. The black and white also just adds so much to it.
for sure on this one. if you ever decide to sell a print of it, i'm for sure getting one!
keep up the amazingly awesome work!!

Thank you!

This is the second time people recommended for a print account today and it's a nice thing hear, I'm flattered The fact is, I'm too lazy to apply for a print account, but I think I'll do it soon

you could make a lot of money off of it... a lot of people would buy your prints...
but great work on this picture, anyways. Although it's really hard to choose, i would have to say that this is one of my favourites that you have done so far.
great work!!

oooh.. lovely b+W shot!. i really like the the angal and the way uve got the sky in almost the same shape as the road. The bloke in there adds a good bit of scale to the buildings and i dont think it would look right without him.. very well done on this from me

Thank you! I agree that the gay adds to the composition. Sometimes I forget to check such things when the main subject is some other thing (like the street, buildings etc.). I also need to discipline myself for background check for some shots

It is said that Istanbul was build upon seven hills. But I don't think that they are as steep or as long as those in San Francisco. More like in Seattle.

Lovely shot and the bw is great but the contrast/sharpening is quite strong...maybe a tiny bit less there

volkanersoy In reply to r4tm [2004-09-19 01:52:23 +0000 UTC]

Actually the extreme usage of the Shadow/Highlight tool of Photoshop CS gives that effect, rather than contrast and sharpness. Some say they like that exaggeration. Here is a more moderate version: [link]

r4tm In reply to volkanersoy [2004-09-19 02:59:10 +0000 UTC]

It is a great effect but too prominent for my taste. I think both versions have their own appeal!
