Don't you just love the idea of a tree opening up to another world? (Apparently, I do.)
To start off, I had drawn this picture before I ever made a photomanipulation of it. So the idea has been in my head for a very long time. It was just a matter of finding the right stock. (I love the tree.
) Hands down, I think this is the best manip I've made so far.
No brushes used. All stock from [link]

i think you captured it really well! ;D though i thought where the sea met the sky in the tree looked a little odd.. and i agree with systemoverload about letting a few rays of sunlight shine out into "the real world"

Looks cool! Perhaps add some rays of sun light coming from the tree opening, to kind of carry the sunset. Also, not sure the picture inside should be displayed like it is. I think it may need some tweaking with positioning, and perhaps distort it so the water is not "straight" across... that or perhaps try a different picture. The concept is really cool, but not sure if it makes complete sense. How did the tree get open? I would perhaps play off that and show how the tree got open. Maybe add an old fashioned key-hole, and perhaps a person standing in front with the sunset light opening on their face.
Well thatβs just some ideas, sorry for rambling. Keep up the good work.

.. I love the tree! And it has this 3d-ish feel into it. ^-^ Lol.. a little glow to the portal to the other world would've been a nice effect too (has a thing for glows, sorry XD)
