Decided to do an improvement meme starring Isis, one of my royal Kamdras. I know that I'll keep improving, so I might do a revamp of this revamp next year XD.Related content

This piece really caught my eye because of your neat animal design! There's a lot I like about this piece and would keep! You did an amazing job with positioning him so that you can see all of his limbs. Some people forget to add body parts that their animals need! I've seen many limbs missing in different pieces but you have everything here so well done. I also love your use of light and shadowing, you did a great job with catching all of the light on his body and mane especially.
I like his red markings as well they add detail to your character but make sure you connect the markings on this front arms to make them look like they circle all the way around his forearm. Right now they look a bit cut off.
I also noticed that you have a beautiful and interesting character drawn here but no background! I would definitely put him laying on a few rocks or a night sky in the distance. Backgrounds always make your art work look more finished and complete. If you don't want to put in the work for a background (I can understand why they're tricky to do) then you can always add a character template and tell people a little more about your creature. What's his name? Gender? Hight? Age? And what colors you used. Be creative! That stuff is fun to think about.

Wow! Thanks so much for the critique! I contemplated putting a background in to make the piece more interesting, but my background work is, admittedly, not on par with my life work. I ultimately decided to not put one in because I felt it would somehow detract from the picture rather than add to it. But I am working on improving my BG making skills in order to avoid this issue in the future.
