Description
Ah, hello, my pretty. This is, in my opinion, the best shot from the zoo trip. Possibly one of my best shots ever. At least to me. My first real chance at taking a macro photo of a butterfly.

Taken at the St. Louis Zoo's Butterfly House. A Paper butterfly, very pretty--one of my favorites to photograph. Very minimal editing done. I think I tweaked the contrast the tiniest, itty-bitty bit. But that's it. No cropping, no saturation, nothing else.

I'm really quite proud of this picture. Please let me know what you think!

ONOEWDNOIWJSLNDUOHSOIJKLNF.

This is AMAZING.

Lovelovelovelove.

The only thing I would say is just that I would have the wings be the center of the picture instead of the body, but that hardly bothers me and we always crop/frame our pictures differently. It's merely a preference thing. GAH. SO GOOD.

Thanks! This is my first pic to break 20 favs so I'm pretty proud!

Hmm, I actually didn't think much about centering the wings or the body for that matter. As I said, I didn't crop it at all so this was just how it was framed. But I do like how it's off to the side a bit. I like having more green showing to play off the butterfly.

That's true. If you cropped it than there would be less color and that is really what makes the butterfly stand out. I didn't even think about that.

Crystal clear focus and great exposure, this butterfly really stands out against that beautiful green background. Superb lighting. The composition is good. I give it an "A". Well done!
