Description
Sorry the description is so long. My favorite Pokemon by type/generation.

Normal:
I-Snorlax
He likes to eat and sleep. We're not so different.
II-Togetic
Thought the concept of eggs was neat, and that my first baby Pokemon's evo was cool.
III-Swellow
Not usually a fan of the normal birds, but I liked Swellow.
IV-Arceus
He's the god of all Pokemon. That's pretty cool.
V-Meloetta
Music's a pretty big part of my life, and a musical legendary sounds awesome.

Grass:
I-Venusaur
I seriously considered starting with Bulbasaur, but he narrowly lost to Charizard. Still in my top five favortite starters.
II-Bayleef
I had high hopes for a good Bayleef evolution, but they gave me Meganium. One of the few instances in which I like the second form more than the last (Wartortle too)
III-Sceptile
Thought his design was cool, would have liked him to be a Grass/Dragon though.
IV-Torterra
Favorite starter from DPPt, and favorite Grass type overall. Would be on my team if it wasn't for Swampert. Member of my Platinum team.
V-Serperior
Second time in a row I picked the grass starter. Thought it was strange that Snivy lost its legs, but was pleased with the design.

Fire:
I-Charizard
Charizard has been with me since day one, and is quite possibly my favorite Pokemon of all time. He's my team leader.
II-Typhlosion
I always liked Typhlosion a lot, and this was a tough decision (I'm a big fan of Houndoom too). Also in my top 5 favorite starters.
III-Blaziken
A Fire/Fighting chicken? Lol that always makes me smile.
IV-Infernape
My second choice for Sinnoh starter. My best Platinum team member until Garchomp came along.
V-Chandelure
Love the typing, and the fact that it looks like a Heartless.

Water:
I-Gyarados
Always thought he was neat, and its one of only two shinies I have (other is Suicune, I've never found one in the wild =/) Also my biggest nemesis prior to teaching my Gengar Thunderbolt.
II-Feraligatr
Nearly chose him over Typhlosion, one of the best looking Pokemon imo.
III-Swampert
My choice when I couldn't send Charizard over from GSC. She stuck and is now a member of my team.
IV-Empoleon
Liked the typing, plus it's a penguin!
V-Carracosta
Helped me out of some rough spots on Black. The only fossil I like better is Kabutops.

Electric:
I-Jolteon
Member of my original Red Version team, second favorite Eeveelution (best is Umbreon!)
II-Ampharos
Not a fan of the rest of its evolutionary family, but Ampharos is pretty cool.
III-Manectric
Neat design, made an Electric/Fighting evo for it.
IV-Luxray
The only thing that would've made me like Luxray more would be a Dark typing. Member of my Platinum team.
V-Galvantula
One of the first Gen V Pokes to really intrigue me, would love to see an evo for it next gen!

Psychic:
I-Mewtwo
Second favorite Legendary and perhaps the most badass Pokemon ever.
II-Espeon
Really liked it after playing Colosseum.
III-Metagross
Reminds me of Steven, the greatest Champion imo.
IV-Gallade
Really dig the typing, member of my current team.
V-Gothitelle
Along with Galvantula, got me excited about B/W.

Dark:
I-None, sadly. Maybe... MissingNo.?
II-Umbreon
Favorite Eeveelution, member of my GSC team and main on Colosseum.
III-Mightyena
Always liked dogs/wolves, and thought Mighyena looked pretty cool, especially for an early Poke.
IV-Honchkrow
It's a freakin' mob boss, complete with fedora.
V-Hydreigon
Favorite typing ever, final member of my current team.

Fighting:
I-Hitmonlee
He's named after Bruce Lee, what's not to like? Member of my Red team.
II-Hitmontop
Not quite as cool as Hitmonlee, but pretty close. Member of my GSC team.
III-Breloom
Like the typing and design.
IV-Toxicroak
Same as Breloom.
V-Emboar
I haven't gotten to use him yet, but he looks pretty cool.

Ghost:
I-Gengar
Always like his evo family, and I had the little toy of him as a kid (maybe I still do?). Member of my current team.
II-Misdreavus
Not much of a choice, but I think she's cool nonetheless.
III-Sableye
Neat design (and of course typing), wish it had better stats though...
IV-Giratina (Origin Forme)
Favorite Legendary, prefer the Origin Forme's desing. Thought the Distortion World was a neat idea.
V-Frillish
Good typing, picked Frillish over Jellicent because it looks more ghostly.

Flying:
I-Aerodactyl
Loved dinosaurs as a kid, thought Aerodactyl looked awesome.
II-Skarmory
Looks awesome. Wish they would do something with it (maybe a prevo?)
III-Salamence
One of my favorite Gen III Pokemon.
IV-Togekiss
Nice to see one of my favorites from GSC get some love again.
V-Archeops
Haven't used it, but looks pretty cool.

Bug:
I-Scyther
The only Bug from RBY I really like, use him (as Scizor) as my catcher with False Swipe.
II-Ariados
Spider Poke is pretty cool, like to see an evo.
III-Shedinja
Thought its ability was pretty clever, as was the means of its acquisition (got mine completely on accident).
IV-Yanmega
Like design, should've been part Dragon...
V-Volcarona
One of my favorites from Gen V. Is it considered a Pseudo-legendary? I know its stats aren't 600.

Poison:
I-Nidoking
Always thought he looked pretty cool. Member of my Red team.
II-Crobat
First encounter with Happiness evolution, thought that was neat.
III-Seviper
Pretty cool looking snake, thought its rivalry with Zangoose was funny.
IV-Roserade
Member of my Platinum team, thought she was pretty cool.
V-Scolipede
Not usually a huge bug fan, but thought it looked cool.

Dragon (possibly my favorite type):
I-Dragonite
Last Pokemon I acquired on Red (excluding Mew, never owned one), the only time I "Caught 'em all".
II-Kingdra
Only Dragon in Gen II, but awesome regardless.
III-Rayquaza
Third favorite Legendary, thought its role as guardian of Kyogre and Groudon was awesome.
IV-Garchomp
My strongest Pokemon ever.
V-Haxorus
THE Pokemon that got me excited about Black. Really liked it, considered it for my team (lost to Hydreigon).

Ground:
I-Golem
Despite weaknesses, thought it was a neat Pokemon.
II-Steelix
Nearly peed myself first time I saw an Onix, nearly had a heart attack when I saw Steelix.
III-Groudon
Liked his design and the whole fight with Kyogre.
IV-Rhyperior
Thought it was cool that they went back to Rhydon.
V-Krookodile
Carried my team through Black. Liked the typing.

Ice:
I-Lapras
When I was a kid I used to stay the night at my grandmother's on Fridays, and catch the Lapras. Seeing a Lapras always reminds me of those days...
II-Piloswine
It's a wooly mammoth!
III-Walrein
The only thing that protected me from Drake...
IV-Mamoswine
It's a bigger wooly mammoth!
V-Kyurem
Think its a neat Legendary, hope they expand on it in the third game.

Rock:
I-Kabutops
Favorite fossil, member of my Red team.
II-Tyranitar
Member of my Gold team, had to decide between him, Garchomp and Hydreigon for my final slot.
III-Armaldo
Like the design, although it looked cooler when I thought the red was its eyes...
IV-Bastiodon
Third favorite fossil, always did like dinos.
V-Gigalith
Once again, sparked my interest in Gen V.

Steel:
I-Magneton
He's three times cooler than Magnemite lol.
II-Scizor
Love the design, use one as my catcher.
III-Aggron
Heavy hitter of my team.
IV-Dialga
Cool design and typing.
V-Ferrothorn
Really liked the typing, really hoping for an evo.
