How is 3DsMAX? I'm learning Maya right now. It's pretty simple once you learn it but I've heard that in the game industry it's mostly all tris and in the film industry its mostly all polys

I like it and find it easier than Maya, though I've spent more time in 3DsMax. I've used both polys and tris but haven't done too much professionally.

That's cool. I've never messed with 3dsmax. I'm kinda afraid to. Maya is enough as is for school x_x
They all keep telling us tris=death. I think it's polys give it more defined detail for high-mesh polys and tris are better for low-mesh polys for games since it's all preloaded script n such.

yeah, but the 256x256 maps lately have been so ugly because resolutions have been going up (weren't that great looking 10yrs ago either XD)
cute that you have 1337 triangles, how long dod it take you to tweak it to that exact number?

yeah, some game res are going up, really depends. But Blizzard uses 256x256 maps I believe and I want to get something to look as best I can with a small map, which then means it'd be even better if I used something larger.
I didn't tweak it at all, it just came out like that.

Yeah, my primary thing is 2d but it's hard to get anywhere in games without knowing 3d :d;
