Thank you, I am not sure I want to let him loose in the fish pond. I love Pastels, Charcoal, Chalk, apart from Ink they are probably my favourite mediums.

Yeah . . . in traditional mediums, ink was always my go to medium. Now I do digital - arthritis in hands makes pen work difficult. Have you ever tried watercolor pastels, also called Aquarelle? Caran D'Ache makes an awesome product called NEOCOLOR, and they ROCK! You can get dense deep color to fine washes - very easy to use - water based pigment, works with everything. My absolute favorite medium. Extensive range of colors too, as well as being mixable.

I do like Watercolour pastels, you can get really good effects with them. I am also contributor to the frozen knuckle club, I also have Osteoarthritis in the spine and hips and knees.

It's like an eel with the teeth of a pacu. I thought this was a tattoo at first, it would make a neat one.

My tattooing skills are not quite at that level yet, but I am working on it, again it is asking the viewer to go beyond simply looking at the image and question what hte image is and its validity.

TheHelepolis In reply to Abigtreehugger [2013-05-21 02:59:58 +0000 UTC]

When you say validity, what do you mean in this context?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Abigtreehugger In reply to TheHelepolis [2013-05-21 03:02:16 +0000 UTC]

Well is it a fish, is it valid to say this is a representation of a fish? its validity.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheHelepolis In reply to Abigtreehugger [2013-05-21 03:10:27 +0000 UTC]

What if it's a valid representation of an invalid fish?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Abigtreehugger In reply to TheHelepolis [2013-05-21 03:25:10 +0000 UTC]

You see you are now looking at it philosophicaly which is what I am looking for when people look at some of my work. A good way of analysing it is that it could be a valid representation of an invalid object.

TheHelepolis In reply to Abigtreehugger [2013-05-21 15:29:44 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, usually when I say something like that it's intended to be facetious, but this time I actually meant it, guess that means you're succeeding

thank you, it has taken me a long time to develope my own style of visual communication.

TheHelepolis In reply to Abigtreehugger [2013-06-03 15:52:19 +0000 UTC]

Yeah your own style is hard to come by, I've observe that from a lot of artistic types. I think it's cool when you can just identify someone by seeing their work.

Abigtreehugger In reply to TheHelepolis [2013-06-03 16:59:25 +0000 UTC]

It is and you find so much time has passed while you have been looking for your style that you have very little time left to produce any meaningful work.

TheHelepolis In reply to Abigtreehugger [2013-06-12 15:12:26 +0000 UTC]

I guess that's true. Which artist was it that said something along the lines of... they spent their whole life learning to paint like a child? But then does an artist ever truly stop developing until they die?

It's not perfect, but that's why it's so eye-catching...The way you blended the colours are very pleasing to see.......

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Abigtreehugger In reply to Kryione [2011-12-05 11:39:50 +0000 UTC]

I think people have become so use to perfect images that they are no longer eyecatching and intreging so I use different techniques in my work to engage the viewer, like the colour blending techniques.

1) What on earth is a Dodongo fish? an if it reminds you of one, dang its ugly.

2) Are you by any chance a geneticist or molecular biologist?
