Actually, the more accurate dress would be around the time of the 19th century, not the 15th century, based on Metal Fish, anyways.

Probably, but I like to use my own interpretation. Otherwise there would be a lot of the same dresses and that isn't fun at all.

It's my impression or the dress has some 'weight'

I love your Idea about the historic Disney Dresses. However may I ask one question... why did you date Little Mermaid in the 1630's?

The Little Mermaids is one of those movies that has aspects of very different era's. There are things that are almost medieval and other things that look very victorian. This time I picked the 17th century because some time ago I saw part of a costume drama featuring a character that reminded me a lot of Ursula/Vanessa. Unfortunately I don't remember what movie it was, but the idea of this design stuck and I decided to give it a try.

Nice double incorporation of an important motif. Also, I can understand sacrificing accuracy for recognition. Vanessa is already hard to remember, being an alternate form a villain whose true form is MUCH more memorable.

I don't know that I had trouble recognizing them, but if you feel you should, then you should.
