Night passed and the day slowly reclaimed the sky. I wondered how many times I'd watched this? The sky never really changed no matter how much time passed, all the things below it changed... excluding me. It was just me and the sky. The light cracking of brush separated me from that expanse of blue and a deer slowly approached. I reached out but something startled the flighty creature and it darted off into the cover of the forest. I focused on the cause of her fear, the hesitation, the thudding heart, the familiar scent. It was that girl again, Aneko. I'm not sure why I didn't say anything or call out, I guess I was just used to everything acting the way that deer acted toward me. If I stayed still and didn't move I wasn't as threatening. I was mildly surprised that she'd come back, but then again I wasn't totally shocked. A tree was poking me in the back, and it was all the evidence I needed to prove that I was hoping she would. This was not an ideal spot, but I knew if she came back this is where she'd have come. I guess I really was feeling lonely, getting my hopes up, getting poked by stupid trees just for the chance of some companionship, also I was starting to think of the sky as a peer, talking to someone was probably a good idea. It would have been more appealing if I wasn't terrified of every person thinking I was a monster.
