Markings : He has four stockings, mottled at the top from his Sabino, trailing up the back of all his legs. On his quarters, there are several freckled patches of Sabino, as well as at the rest of both his shoulders. He has a long, yet shallow Splash pattern on his barrel, and a small whiteface, also mottled at the edges.

Physical Appearance: A perfect example of the Mali sub-breed with near-perfect conformation. He has a long, narrow head with big, expressive, intelligent eyes and long, thin ears.
His neck is long, slim and set high out of the wither - very thick at the top and has a lovely swan-curve when he 'struts his stuff'.
He has prominent shoulders that are large, strong and free moving.
He has a low-set tail and a narrow, yet deep chest and has the appearance of being very long due to having a long neck, legs and a level top-line.
He has dense bone, relatively short cannons and low-set hocks, whilst having long forearms and gaskins that are long and smoothly muscled.
Large, flat joints and almost stretched looking legs, making him tall, strong and very dominant looking.
His mane and tail are thick, curly and hard to tame; he has feathers on all fetlocks, as well as under his shoulder and on the top of his hindlegs.
His movement is unrestricted, thrown-out and very fast; his legs move strongly and quickly and seems to float above the ground in a grand manner.

Temperament: Very fiery, strong and smart. He barely ever stands still and is constantly jumping, walking or bucking his way around. Twister is very insecure and fearful of what’s around him, especially in the main stable yard and has a tendency to take his ‘fight or flight’ instinct a little too far. He is sensitive, very grumpy and hard to handle almost all the time – he can barely be controlled by Kalib, and that’s as far as any real ‘control’ over him will ever stretch. Nevertheless, he has an acute amount of common sense and is very good at keeping an eye out for danger, something we suppose came from him running a herd back in the wild.
Twister has a lot of trust issues when it comes to people, but, unlike many other horses, finds trusting women much harder than men. He has, to this day, only been successfully ridden by Kalib, Grant and Theyn, but barely tolerates them to begin with…

Discipline(s): He’s unbroken to any real discipline, since we’re just glad that three people have managed to sit on him and ride him around. Nevertheless, he spooks in the school as well as out on trails, and only seems comfortable when being ridden in fields – we’ve tried the racetrack as well, but the enclosed space doesn’t seem to work for him, even though he can run as far as he wants around it…
However, he does seem to have taken to Theyn’s style of riding well, and seems to be settling in a lot better with her.

Never thought he’d be this much trouble, s’pecially since I’ve ridden horses like him before – like all the Bashki we got from the roundup… He’s… okay when he settles down, but can spur off at any moment and have you on the floor the next —a real loose cannon, that one!”
Grant: “Holy crap… Twister? Well, damn ridiculous if you ask me! I’ve ridden my fair share of horses – even wild Bashki before – and never had to cope with a horse so damn determined not to be ridden before. I know it’s something to do with control, but there’s no balance with that horse!”
Theyn: “A beautiful horse! Not the one for everyone, I’m certain, since I’ve seen Kalib and Grant struggle with him and many others thrown off. There’s a real knack to riding him, and I’ve just found that the least amount of pressure you put on him, the better he is – but I’m pretty sure he’s never gonna pull out of these habits – they’re his very nature, to be honest.”

History: Nothing is known of Twister’s birth, early life, upbringing, adolescence e.t.c., up until the BS staff found his herd and took him back in the original Bashki roundup.
He was probably the worst behaved horse they’d ever come across and nearly took out three people’s teeth as well as almost smashing Grant’s shin at one point.
Back at BS he didn’t improve and became just an ass to ride, and, though never spiteful, didn’t take to anyone at the stables and fought valiantly during attempts to ride him.
It was easy to find out what spooked him – from the moment he was taken into his box he smashed the door down and broke out then raced towards the field – something he’s thankfully grown out of… for now.
It became a real privilege to be able to ride Twister, a feat that has, so far, only been accomplished by 3 people, and each of them had tied something into his mane as a bit of a reminder. They were those moments you would realize that Twister isn’t the devil horse he seems to be, and is actually very sweet, and simply needs to be handled a certain way that is slowly being learned by Kalib and Grant.
Since Theyn’s arrival, he’s being doing much better and has been stabled for over an hour without breaking the door and is also much calmer during normal stable duties – as well as being ridden more often out in the fields by Theyn, who seems to be the only person who really gets him. Yet, she herself has been tossed off him more than once.
