....You know they're the ones that caused The Flood in the first place right? All because they got jealous of humanity getting all the respect their creators didn't give them?

Mais pourquoi n'ont-ils pas garder cette allure dans Halo 4?A la place, on a un Didact Γ©cΕurant qui a LITTΓRALEMENT une tΓͺte de c*l.

Reeeeally... If that were so then why was it that they decided to steal the Mantle from the precurssors who were about ot hand the Mantle to humanity?

Scream-Lord In reply to pancakeminezz [2013-12-20 07:11:19 +0000 UTC]
From what I can gather. The Precursors were observing both the Forerunners and the ancient Humans to see which was worthy of handing the Mantel.
They picked the humans and were going to wipe out the Forerunners,
The Forerunners learned of this and attacked first, catching the Precursors by surprise and eventually defeated them and took the Mantle themselves, before they learned of Humanity.
Then X amount of years/centuries/millennia/eons later, Humanity came rushing into their territory without warning in what they assumed to by an aggressive expansionist invasion. Eventually they beat down and nearly extinguished humanity and only after that did they learn that they weren't waging war but fleeing from the Flood.
They tried to fight of the Flood but do to their demilitarization between the Human/Forerunner War and the Flood War they didn't have the power so they indexed as many species as they could, including humanity, gave the mantle to them, sent they indexed species to the Ark and fought off the Flood long enough to activate the Halo Array.
And the rest is history.

In the end they still handed the Mantle down to Humanity. But apparently the Precursors were tyrants or something. I haven't read the books but this is what my friends have been telling me.

Yeah. Read Silentium. But that was because he was made mad by the Flood..literally. Ur-Didact was..by Forerunner standards..a monster on par with the Flood. Iso-Didact on the other hand..

What was Iso-Didacts personality?
I heard he is the main protagonist for the Forerunner books.

He was the "tragic" hero. With "tragic" being the original Greek meaning from Greek tragedies.

I liked how they were depicted in Halo Legends. A noble race with a strong sense of justice. If the Halo array was their absolute last gamble then it's a good bet that they did try their luck with biological weapons on the Flood and it didn't work.
Halo 4 is likely to be the first Halo game that I'm actually going to pick up and play. I'm not concerned about having to play the older games to know what's going on. I've followed the story up to very end of Halo 3.

Thats my favorite segment of Halo Legends. I Really wanted to see a larger picture of the Forerunner/Flood war, Dreadnaughts going toe to toe with Flood infected ships in the final blockade battle. Would have been awesome. But We know they went down fighting.

That's great and all, but maybe an array of dooms day fortress worlds that wiped out all sapient life just to starve a viral like life form was not the BEST idea.
