May I ask how what the head joint is like? My experiments have required a bit of extra fabric bunched around the joint to allow room for movement. But yours doesn't have any visible scrunchy fabric, and it doesn't look like the joint is fully exposed either. I'd like to make a more Western-esque dragon some time, but my current pattern would look kinda weird, so I'd love to know a different way to go about it.

The head joint is a spring with a washer soldered onto the end to provide anchoring for the control cables. The clay that fills in the neck comes up to the end, then the dragon's cheeks sort of overlap back over the neck joint. The scrunchy fabric that allows movement is mostly tucked up behind/under the jawline since the jaw overlaps the neck enough to hide it. It's also nice stretch velvet, so there's a little extra elasticity to allow less scrunch.

That's a great idea. You've inspired me to make a Western-esque dragon myself. Thanks for sharing!

Amazing! I'm working on a dragon puppet too, but mine is way more simple and I'm kinda stumbling along with it because I don't know what I'm doing. XD Anyway, just wanted to say I'm impressed.

Here's a link to the video! Not the best demo (I've replaced some cables since then for better movement) but you can see what she's capable of.

Wow, that looks amazing! Especially the way the wings move, it is extremely realistic. I can't wait to see her finished.
