Description
So this was a drawing a did a short while ago. I wanted to experiment with lighting affects and shading so I remade this into digital art. The back right paw is bothering me so much. It looks crippled, but by the time I noticed I already added the shading in so It would take another hour to redo it. I personally think that the lighting affects look pretty good along with my blending. For so,e reason I am obsess with how well the fading is on the eye. Hopefully you guys like this!In case you can't visualize what this is the green/blue thing is an aurora (northern light) and the two cloud things next to the sun are nebula's along with the blue purple one at the bottom. Emily is in space obviously.

Hi! I'm GoldenDove from project comment. Id just like to start this of by saying I'm terrible at critic, so please forgive me if I'm rude or don't explain my self well. also please pardon any spelling or gamer errors. ill put links for references at the bottom to help.
lets start with the background, nebula's tipsily look more like explosions of colors rather than rivers. find a place you would like the "explosion" to be focused on, in this particular drawing, i suggest behind the head or bottom right. if you place it behind the head then have it extend in all direction, if its in the corner make it extend towards the head. this will draw the attention to the face which is what you want.
As for the body in general, the anatomy a little of. the front legs should be a lot bigger, and the solder should reach to the top of the back. the paws on the blacklegs wouldn't normally bend in this situation they would stay going the same direction as the leg, so you would probably be able to see the tow pads. wolfs have a tuck stomach witch i see is what you were trying to do, but where the rib cage ends should be a lot more apparent. i suggest creating a simpleminded skeleton underneath the character, trust me it helps a lot. the way you drew the wings mack them look more fury then feathery, i suggest making each feather more defined. there also far to small to pick her up of the ground they should be a lot bigger, maybe three or four times her size. the reason birds don't need that big of wings i because of there bone structure, they don't have that much mass.(look at me being a Hippocratic, i never draw wings the size there supposed to be. XD)
next is the face one of if not the most in portent part of a picketer like this. i suggest making the hair float away from her face ( the rest of the fur needs to be floaty too, if you do that.) so you can see the face better. make her eyes stretch wide and narrow her iris and pupil. instead of making her mouth a gape just part the lips slightly to show a little of the teeth. by doing this you mack her look as if shes in utter awe at the shear beauty of the nebula.
finally the lighting, i suggest doing the type of lighting i often use. add a rim light around the edges of the character, and bleed it on to the character slightly, the closer it is to the light shore the brighter and larger the rim light should be. make shore its the same or a similar color as the light source. then almost completely engulf he rest of the character in shadows. make shore the shadows are ether the same or opposite color as the light. if the light is a light teal color then have the shadow ether be dark teal or dark maroon. also i suggest changing the white on the character to jest the ever so slightest smidgen darker. it will be hardly noticeable but if your light is white it will make a worlds difference.
