Description
Species: Cleptiformes
Homeplanet: Billostaraxy
Life-Span: 400-500
Habitat: Reefs, Shallow Waters, Tropical Beaches
Diet: Piscivore/Spongivore/Teuthophagore/Durophagy (Crustacean)
Breeding: Sexual Reproduction
Sexual Dimorphism: Males are slightly larger in size, but their fins are the most noticeable detail, often longer with brighter colours than the females. Meanwhile, females are slightly smaller, with more pastel colours on their short fins. Children often start out with pastel colours too, but males will eventually deepen over time.
Behaviour/Bio: An intelligent and curious race, the Cleptiformes are quite scholarly beings, but also have a natural humble aura to them, as they can be quite charismatic and friendly people, eager to chat to share knowledge, wanting to learn a lot about their world and the galaxy they live in. Being advanced enough, they stumble upon the fact that there was more life out in space by themselves, and were quick in wanting to integrate because of their fascination with learning and searching.
They’re a race that strives to improve, to gather knowledge around them to better understand the unknown of the world, making them often fearless people who are eager to even run into danger if it means they get to find something new. Because of their intelligence and natural charm with people, they’ve helped out many other races and the Plumber, even known to become researchers or teachers across the milky way, encouraging people around them to reach their full potential, and to seek out the talents you have.
They live quite fancy lives, using the rich resources on their planet to build sites, weapons and tools. This has also lead them to kind of being neat freaks, and having a perfectionist outlook. While they can get pushy without realises it, they’re often out just wanting to help and learn.
Abilities:
Telekinesis - Having strong mental powers, they are able to lift the heaviest of things with ease with their minds. They’re often casually about these powers, using them in everyday life, but is often their primary weapon in combat. And whenever they use their mental powers, their fins will ripple in colour. They also use their telekinesis to levitate themselves, as while they can slither on land, it’s far easier to float around.
X-Ray Vision - Able to look through any solid object, making it easy for them to spy and find things that pique their interest. It was developed to help them avoid predators and find prey, but has since been a handy tool in fights, building and locating.
Telepathy - They are able to link their minds with others, or create a selected group of minds to all connect together to share a telepathic link. This helps to provide private conversations and plans, especially when trying to hide or not wanting to share something.
Clairvoyance - With their mental powers being quite strong, they are also able to look through the eyes of others, and see what they see. This can only be done when their target is in sight, but once they establish a mental link, they no longer have to be in close range to connect this power.
Water/Land Breathing - They have special gills that allow them to breath underwater and on land, as their buildings are often a mix of being on beaches, and in the coral reefs they live around.
Slippery Skin - While nothing insane, their slippery aquatic skin makes them hard to hold onto, especially if someone were to try and tackle and pin one of them. It comes in handy when escaping the clutches of enemies, though can be annoying if trying to aid and alley at times.
Toxic Skin - By choice, they can emit a toxic substance on their skin. This can cause rashes and boils, with a strong itchy urge depending on where the toxins touch you, meaning it needs physical contact to work.
Multi-Directional Vision - Most of the time their vision is settled in one direction. However, if they so wish to, all their eyes can go in separate directions, allowing them to keep a better eye on their surroundings, making it hard to sneak up on them.
Prehensile Tail - With powerful tails, they can use them to swim fast underwater, carry things, or even be used as a whip-like weapon against their foes. They are also known to wrap their tails together when showing affection to someone they care about, like a hug to them.
High-Stamina/Regeneration/Reflexes/Flexibility/Senses - Having first originated from being water dwellers only, a lot of their body is based around those times. While not particularly good at hand-to-hand combat and not tanky beings, they are dangerous in combat due to their amount of mental power, stamina, and agility they possess. And while nothing too fancy, they can regenerate damage over time, and lost limbs, though that takes a fair bit of time.
Weaknesses: Intense heat and fire will dry them out, removing their frictionless skin and toxins, sometimes even killing them. Striking their gills can disorient them. Requires drenching themselves in water every now and again. They are not tanky, often needing to dodge and can easily be damaged. Stress can affect their telekinesis. Losing their telekinesis means they can’t levitate, so they’ll struggle to move on land. Their bright colours are not often suited for hiding in environments not their own, and the bright ripple effects their fins cause can make them stick out like a sore thumb. Because of their natures, they can often throw themselves into danger if it means answering a question eating away at them, and they can often be a little too pester at times when it comes to helping people.
