Personality:
Abigail is a very determined individual who dreams big and constantly strives to become bigger and better than what she is. While her ambition can be aimless at times due to her tendency to change her goals on the fly, she is nonetheless very dedicated to her pursuits and will always do the best she can with what she has. If she could choose a solid path and stay the course, she would go far - but that requires a level of certainty that Abby isn't quite prepared for. She can fall easy prey to "get rich quick" style schemes, unfortunately, and is easily blinded by possibilities when facing reality. She wants more - more of what, exactly, she's not sure. But she'll get there.
Abby loves to have fun, but this can affect her work ethic and cause her to come across as incredibly loud and needlessly goofy. She enjoys clowning around when given the chance, but is slowly learning how to be serious when it's required of her. She's never one to pass up an opportunity to make a memory, however, and this can lead to her dropping the ball on more important endeavors.
She can be resentful when she feels sleighted or ignored, and will sink to acts of petty revenge with the right provocation. She tends to cling to people she likes and will rely on them for fulfillment and entertainment, so being spurned or pushed aside sits very poorly with her. She'd rather lash out than talk it over peacefully, however, which can make her unnecessarily difficult to deal with on a bad day. She struggles with a deep-seated fear of abandonment and reacts poorly to perceived distance with friends and peers.
History:
Abigail was born in the Lost Tower in Sinnoh and spent most of her formative years chasing trainers and scaring them for laughs. She liked to sneak up on humans and pull their hair, shrieking at them and watching them run. As a Misdreavus this was fairly normal for her - she received sustenance from generating fear, anyway, so it was a habit that she'd formed out of necessity. Any trainers who turned on her she simply fled from, content with scaring but never engaging.
Her routine was interrupted one day by a girl who wasn't even a trainer - when Abby snuck up on the child, she wasn't easily startled. Confused and annoyed that the little girl wasn't reacting as intended, Abby followed her through the tower, continually pulling at her hair and trying in vain to spook her. The girl kept walking, however, shooing her away each time. Disgruntled, Abby settled with following her, only to discover that she'd come to visit the grave of a family Pokémon. She hovered uncertainly while the little girl paid her respects, realizing she was clearly sad about the loss. Abby stayed with her for a while, before the little girl finally got up to leave - without even considering her actions, Abby followed her through the tower and back towards the exit.
The little girl was surprised that Abby had stuck around her for so long, and she offered to take her home with her. Suddenly delighted by the idea of having a friend and a home, Abby agreed.
Unfortunately the girl's parents weren't as open to their daughter bringing home a ghost from the Lost Tower. Apprehensive and somewhat superstitious, they feared that Abigail was probably the ghost of a deceased Pokémon that their child had uprooted. (Abby couldn't verbally refute their claims, even though the Lost Tower was all she'd ever known.) They gathered both their daughter and her Misdreavus up and took them back to the tower. Despite the girl's pleas to reconsider, they ordered her to take Abby back to the tower. Distraught but knowing she couldn't disobey her parents, the little girl took Abby back to the tower and released her.
Still not fully understanding why she'd been brought back, Abby tried to give chase after the family as they drove away, but got lost quickly. She tried to head back to the tower when it became clear she couldn't catch them, but realized she couldn't find her way back. Frightened and alone, she went into hiding.
Eventually Abby was found by a traveling Pokéhuman named Jax, a wandering medic who owned a shelter in Lumiose. He happened to stumble across the lone Misdreavus hidden in a tree stump. He coaxed her out with a promise of food, and after getting to know her story, he asked her if she wanted to come to his shelter to rest and recover. She agreed, following him back to Lumiose.
After some time she decided she wanted to be a human, and asked Jax for a dittech. After receiving one (Apellon affiliated at the time) she spent a little while working around the shelter until she recently sought local employment. She found a job working at Sacred Grounds for Delaney, and has been there since.

Extras:
- Abby doesn't live at the shelter anymore. She's deemed herself self sufficient and lives on her own. She comes to visit sometimes, though.
- Jax didn't change the shelter's affiliation over to PMA-Co until after Abby had left, so her dittech is still Apellon. She doesn't care enough to change it, and actually kind of likes the freedom. Not that she does much that could be worth monitoring or punishing.
