Colette is generally someone who is considered moody. She doesn't give off a friendly aura, and she generally scowls at everyone who happens to walk by. She's someone who's usually off to the side and prefers to be alone. People are really just a bother to deal with to her, and that is why she generally just doesn't interact with others. Colette is quite independent and tends to do things her own way. She hates to follow procedure and strays from it if she has a choice (even if she doesn't have a choice, she'll try to bend the rules).
She also comes across as distant to those she doesn't consider her family members, and she'll try to avoid having the deep friend bonding moments with others. Her private life is just that, and it takes a lot of time and effort to break the wall. It's really an effort on both ends to close the gap. Colette is also quite self-conscious since she believes herself to be lesser than her peers and tends to cover this up with her aggressive nature.
Cole is actually quite courageous and doesn't back down from challenge. It tends to get her into some sticky situations, but she believes that courage is a noble attribute to have. She is also quite forgiving but this can be viewed as a negative attribute too. She can be too forgiving and might end up forgiving someone who has done her wrong and will do it again without doubt.
In the end, Colette is quite honorable as she doesn't believe in playing dirty and believes that doing so is just an offense to yourself. Nothing is more important than being fair, and that's what she's determined to give every demi-god.

History

Colette was born to an actress famous in both Broadway and on the silver screen. For the first years of her life, Colette was very happy to spend every waking moment with a mother that seemed to love her with all her heart; she hadn’t even bothered to ask about the whereabouts of her father (after all her mom was more than enough). Soon enough the girl had to go to school or at least get an education, so her mother stuck Colette in the home and let a private tutor teach her everything she knew. It didn’t take much time for Colette to hate it. Being cooped up in a small room to learn something she couldn’t read? Please, she needs to be outdoors and just applying some skill to everyday life.
So obviously the first private tutor gave up since he didn’t sign up for such a rowdy child who was “stupid”. Eventually it became a pattern of one tutor getting fed up after another, and so one of the few times her mother was home, she told Colette she'd be attending a boarding school since it'd be best for the both of them. Her busy work schedule wouldn't allow her to be home with Colette, and she felt it "improper" to take her child along to the workplace. Colette didn't see her way and simply felt abandoned and figured her mother was making excuses just so she could get rid of a child she seemed to not want anymore.
Unwillingly, she went to the boarding school where she tried to make the best efforts she could to like it, but Colette encountered the same problems she did at home. An enclosed area that wasn't fun in the slightest, but this time there were a bunch of snooty kids to look down on her. She managed to make a few friends though and was fortunate enough to befriend a girl named Cordelia. She was very soft spoken and sweet, and Colette generally admired her ability to be such. She clumsily would try and imitate her mannerisms, but it didn't work out due to her personality.

Eventually, the world around Colette got...a bit strange. Sometimes out of the corner of her eye, she'd notice a weird distorted shape..something that obviously was not human. She began to feel watched..like she was going to be preyed upon any moment. Cordelia was a bit on edge too always flitting her eyes back and forth as if there was an iminent danger. Towards the end of the year, she went back home to her mother's house in uptown New York. Much to her surprise, Cordelia was there along with her mother who seemed to be wanting to give her some sort of talk.

Thus this is how she figured out she was a demigod. That summer, she went to camp half blood where she was claimed by the end of the week. Once she joined the Hypnos cabin, she was immediately happy to be greeted by warm hugs and people that smelled like warm milk and honey. And after a summer of such good company, she wanted to be a year rounder. Colette was happy to be with people that she considered her "family".
TL;DR

Cole is born to a famous actress who doesn't seem to care about her very much. While leaving Colette in her home in New York, her mother goes out to party and work every day. She is tutored, but eventually those guys give up to. Her mother sends her to a boarding school where she feels just as outcast. Her sword is made to be lighter than most as her arms are not as strong despite the training. She named is "Eternal" as she wanted to "bring eternal sleep" to the monsters that attacked her. The hilt of the sword is modeled after several statues of hypnos .

She is able to put people to sleep like most children of Hypnos, but in order for people to fall asleep by her whims, the environment must be calm, their guard must not be up, and they must already feel some sort of wish to sleep [being a child of Hypnos, they will already feel drowsy so this part is easier for the most of the time]. However even as a child of Hypnos, a wide awake person with full willpower will not be affected by her aura.
Shaper of Dreams
This ability is more or less for fun. Colette can control her own dreams just fine, and she can affect the dreams of others as well if they ask before hand. Now she can't change your dream completely. Let's say for example you're dreaming about rabbits. She can't change your dream to you scavenging in the forest. She can however change the setting to rabbits in the forest. She can turn bad dreams pleasant and vice versa.

Fatal Flaw

Inferiority
There are multiple reasons as to why this is her fatal flaw. Her mother left her in the care of a nurse to continue her glamorous lifestyle as a celebrity, her father left her and her mother because of his godly duties, and the fact that she is the child of a minor god are her reasons for feeling inferior to her peers. She is aware that this is the case of many demigods, but she just happened to take it harder than they did.
