Happy Birthday Ginger! I remember finding your kiwikrayons account awhile back and that I really liked your art there. Your character has a great design, and your skills in realizing this design are impressive. I really like the inspirational quality of your Star Sailing [link] collaboration showing your character with =Verlidaine and *Winterhound beneath the night sky. I am also familiar with the other amazing collaborative works that you and your friends have created, and they are a great source of inspiration to me.

As you may know, I have started to write a story for your character and the characters of your friends, and I have made this scene so as to introduce you to the story if you'd like. Basically, tablets that have video link and voice to text would serve as a way for fursonas to communicate across great distances. I am in the process of writing storyline for some of the works already in my gallery. I will be making a new journal once I get the first scene's storyline posted sometime very soon. If you have any questions, please let me know. I can send you all sorts of backstory information and storyline drafts for your input before publishing them.

This drawing of Ginger and a scenic landscape on a spring afternoon is designed to accompany a distance conversation with other characters. I'd appreciate any advice on the actual writing of the lines before adding them to this description.

Comments and critique are appreciated.

Do you, by any chance, use reference photos when you draw?

Not for backgrounds, I just draw those with tree brushes and nice colors from memory. For characters, I draw from reference sheets for the character. I use the color dropper tool to get the exact colors used by the designer of the character.

You're welcome! I'm trying to develop my watercolor-themed backgrounds by making trees that have a painted effect. And photoshop CS4 grass brushes are very useful, too.

As for the tablets, I just figured that fursonas would need a way to communicate across distances before being able to go on FAR-RANGING ADVENTURES AND COOL STUFF. And keyboards just wouldn't work with paws, so there you go.

I'd like to write a conversation into the storyline at some point- if you have any advice for me, please feel free to send me a note. I'd like to have a sort of realistic dialogue, but I'm not sure if I know where to begin.

Did you create the background on this?

Yes! I used Photoshop CS4 with tree brushes and stylus pressure sensitivity for the opacity. Then, I adjusted the colors of the tree brush to make different layers of different colored trees. I made the grass by using the two default grass brushes. I adjusted the angle of the grass brush by giving it tilt jitter effects.

Not bad, I prefer your background to the main character in this, your background definitely had more time put into it!
