Old scandinavian folklore talks much of the trolls of the forest. The trolls came out from under their hills mostly at night or during the very boundaries between light and darkness (in most stories the trolls survived sunlight just fine). But whereas the Vaette (gnomes) could sometimes be spotted by their colourful caps moving through the forest, the trolls mostly stayed unseen, only appearing at the very boundary of vision.When Old father Troll went fishing you could easily mistake him for a mossy rock if you didn't know where to look. But if you did see him, and was polite and friendly, the tale said he might reward your manners by granting you wealth and good fortune.

The colors in this are beautiful, the pink makes this look so nice and whimsical. And those trees like almost wispy. Wintery, but a warm greeting at the same time.

Thanks! If you follow the video you'll find I actually tweaked the colours quite a bit at the end; originally the image was a lot "colder" in hue. I'm not too convinced over how the trees came out myself; "whimsical" is probably a pretty good description overall.

The glowing light behind the trees is really quite lovely. I always enjoy these winter scenes in your Christmas cards.

Spent some time with that glowing light (as can be seen in the video), so it's good that it seems to have worked out. Those scenes are becoming a little of a tradition.
