Oh yes! Ashley really does know what he's doing when he battles and is an excellent strategist (the caveat being that, yeah, he just needs to get his head together sometimes

I think if there is one thing that characterizes Ashley's team, it is loyalty. Right now it is admittedly one-sided, with Ashley's Pokemon being very loyal to him. He's still got some stuff to learn.

Why do I have a feeling that Huck is going to have the worst of it. Also I know that sounds plausible but it will still hurt like HELL with electricity running through her.

Huck is about as stubborn as Ashley when it comes to protecting his trainer.
(also, sex/gender-wise: Ashley, Huck, Tyne (bayleef), and Zeus are all male; Ashley's Misdreavus and Zubat are female).

Unfortunately, Ashley's Zubat and Misdreavus don't get much screentime. I do have names and basic personality traits for them, but I'll probably get to that at a later time; and likely in some extras or artwork.

Very good of Ashley to run things by his team rather than just forcefully commanding them. This builds trust and shows he knows the risks to them and wants them to understand if they are willing to take them. Even so, he still understands his Pokemon's own needs, such as Huck wanting to stay out rather than go in the ball. Hopefully seeing all this when he calms down will help Zeus see that Ashley can understand and help him.

Yeah, I'm glad that you were able to pick up on these interactions here. Ashley certainly deals with each of his mons in a different way, and that changes depending on the situation. So I wanted to get across that this is a big thing he is asking of Tyne (bayleef) and he is aware of that.

Oh my gosh, this really hit hard just to think about the responsibility a Trainer has and how brave the Pokemon are. Like, they know they're going to get hurt but they're willing to risk themselves to help, and the Trainers know they're putting their friends in harm's way but they have to do it for the greater good sometimes
Just the way he asked "Is that okay?" hit me right in the feels for some reason
