Abby: “James, you really need to relax more. Be like me, you know? Lay on the lawn in the sunshine until your fur gets too hot and you crawl into the shade, watch cars drive buy--unless it’s the scary garbage truck--and just, you know, forget about all that political stuff that bothers you. Republican, Democrat, conservative, liberal… when will you realize that no matter who’s in charge, there will always be kitties to chase, mailwomen to bark hello to, and crumbs on the kitchen floor to lick up? I say your only real concerns should be giving me doggie treats, letting me sleep on the nice new couch, and petting me every time I walk up to you and start whining.
“Wouldn’t that be nicer than listening to AM radio and reading political books all day? Just stop, James… stop and smell the roses…”
James: “That’s a weed.”

I’ve decided not to listen to her advice, or at least not completely. The news has been too insane/moronic/dangerous not to pay attention to, and I’m absorbing a lot of it, but… maybe that dopey dog has a point. Not about barking at the mailwoman and licking the kitchen floor--you know what I mean.
Comments welcome, even if it’s to point out that Abby will be sleeping on the new couch, no matter what I do…

She is, and knows it! Abby is fully aware that all she has to do is bat her eyelashes at a human and she will get whatever she wants.

Haha as all adorable puppers do! I myself have a soft spot aswell when it comes to puppy eyes after they wrecked something. I'm way to weak when they give me that look

Well, I believe that politics--either directly or indirectly--affects every aspect of all our lives, so it is impossible for me to give it up completely. (Didn’t know you talk to Blame, cool!)

I recall being interested in why things were happening the way they were from a very early age. Wondering who the people on the news were, why there were wars in other countries and what would happen if either side won, etc., and asking for explanations I was too young to understand. People may not agree with me, but I do like to think that I seem informed to them.

I’m going to listen to her and try to give current events a rest… after all, history is full of things to get appalled at.
