Description Another tattoo, a rather expansive one at that. Reminds me of a big honkin' insect. I drew the sections of the "wing" in parts and it kind of has a folding effect. The "feathers" sort of look blurry and lends a perceptual illusion of motion. I think I like this piece and I ended up using a lot of different approaches, so I learned from it as well. Tattoo wings are fun to draw but take a while. Please FULL VIEW to see what I'm talking about in the details. Thanks for checking this out!

Time: 3 hours
Media: 0.5 mm gel pen, paper.

Oro, I've never seen it as a wolf, I just noticed that. ^_^ I just draw whatever comes to me and it oftentimes ends up with multiple effects. Thanks for commenting!

You're not wrong about the details. Another really cool design. I like the tattoo wings you design.

Hehe...they are random flights of my fancy. I think my tattoo wings get more attention than the rest of the stuff in my gallery XD. Thanks for the support!

Hehe, you flatter me. The gel pen I use? Nothing really all that special. I use a Pilot G2 0.5 mm black pen for most of my tattoo designs, such as this one, but another one that is equally "clean" is the Uniball Signo, which has an advantage over the G2 as that it can write on skin [and we all know tattoos look better on skin, ne? ]. My work seems to have a lot of detail and sharply cut lines, so, you have to have a pen you are comfortable with and is easy to control. I can find both G2s and Signos in most any drug store or stationery store around here. ^_^ Hope this helped, have a nice day.

wow, this is amazing, i have to ask though, how do you make it so symetrical?, or whatever that word means, lol, like, the left side looks exactly like the right side, is it all free hand?

Nopity nope. Sorry! I possess no talent in the symmetry department. I drew the right of it and rotated it in Photoshop. Sorry to disappoint ya. Hope I haven't failed as an artist in anyone's eyes. ^_^'. Hope that answer satisfies your query. Have a nice day.

Hehe, I like the signature...does make sense as long as you analyze it piece by piece. Yeah, a lot of my tattoo deviations have LOTS of detail...My hand rambles as much as my mouth does. I design them to cover large spaces like upper to lower back. Thanks for commenting on this piece. Welcome to deviantart. If you are interested, I have many more detailed tattoo designs for you to check out. Have a nice day.

You go on my homepage [click on my name and it'll take you to my deviantart page] and the furthest right icon says "deviantwatch" and you add me as your friend. You can also choose to get updated on deviations, journals, scraps, etc, as you see fit. The way it works is that you'll get a message whenever I update my gallery and it's a great way to keep in touch with your favorite artists. I'd love for you to watch me, thanks! See ya later

Well, do you know how to upload deviations? All you have to do is click the SUBMIT button and it'll go through the specific details of what you are uploading. Just follow the instructions and you'll be fine. Also took me a week to find that button >__<.

Hey now, art is seldom purely bad! I'm sure you make great pieces. It's about expressing oneself, not about beating out master artists. Everyone has the right to express themselves. I hope you do submit something one day, but you don't hafta. For the record, I'm interested in your creations

Jingmamalulu In reply to randomguy1k [2005-06-19 20:00:05 +0000 UTC]

Well, it is my personal opinion that it's nearly impossible to express the image in our mind on paper the way we want it to. I visualize an image and TRY to put it down on paper but it isn't 100% the image I envisioned. Art is that way. I think of one aspect of becoming "good" at art as making that paper image 100% accurate to the mental image. Don't worry about what it looks like because the truth of it is that the more we practice, the better we'll get. It's better to fail having tried than to never try at all. You will make progress if you give it your best effort, I'm sure. To me, I'm not a "good artist" either, I just dabble in things and people happen to like some of my pieces. But I'd still do art just for the fun of it. I encourage you to become as artistic as you are meant to be. ^_^ Take care.
