Description Today is the valentines day ,here in Japan they organize the things quite differently but,it may have the same "endings".
in march we have the "white day" that , is the "reply" day for the men who got chocolate as a present today.
the meaning is like that . :

today as you may have seen in the anime like "shana",the women cook (most buy) ,a chocolate to a friend or someone you want want
so this someone may response your "offer" (.. gasp..) by / - / replying the chocolate in the white day (april).

pretty simple , traditional and quite yumi !

this is the thousand "origami tsuru" that are made as a promise for something you wish,or actually,if you do that you may deserve a wish, truth being told.

and be thankful if your wish was granted

My birthday is in February 14th, but we don't celebrate Valentines here in Brazil... XD

Instead there is a day similar to Valentines, on June 12th. I think the name can be translated to 'Lovers Day'

Anyway, very beautiful pic!!!

nice work i adore all your photographs!

on the note of valentine's day in japan, does a male need to return a gift to females that gave them gratitude chocolate?

thanks

I remember about learning about White's Day through Harvest Moon and some other anime I watched as a child. I thought it was quite cute. ^^

wow that's cool how japan celebrates v-day! here (in america) it's so commercialized like christmas. i hate it. the media tries to pressure people into thinking that flowers and candy aren't enough - you have to buy expensive gifts as well!

valentine's day is my wedding anniversary. 5 years!

In Russia, 23th of February is the Day of The Defender - it's a custom to give presents for men. The next stop is 8th of March - The Women's Day, when all women are congratulated. These are state holidays.

I think itΒ΄s a much better ValentineΒ΄s day than in the rest of the world...itΒ΄s simply about the ones you like(not just bf and gf) and about chocolate (what else could we wish ) but for example in my country lots of girls are stressed every year before Vday because they havenΒ΄t got a boyfriend or they have one but they donΒ΄t know what kind of gift would he like and so on...ItΒ΄s more like "if I pick the wrong gift" or I forget to say "I love you" several times we might break up,so itΒ΄s kinda "The day of stress for people in love".....Well IΒ΄ve never celebrated Vday with someone so I donΒ΄t really know but it seems just like this to me,which is kinda sad.

i didn't see that coming
most of the time people do a comment but,the stress part i never thought about it.
Well, lucky you will spend a Vday with someone someday.
I can only tell you that the only person i spent my Vday was and it is my wife,my old girlfriends didn't last that long to celebrate nothing.

i didn't last ...actually
