My part of the collab! The pose might be kind of boring I'm afraid, but I didn't want to make her too distracting. ><I'm really glad I got to draw Gumi, she's been my favorite since she was first released. <3

Hmm well most of of the techniques I use for drawing are pretty basic now... just cel shading and stuff and the style itself is just kind of the result of me looking at a BUNCH of different styles over the past couple years and imitating elements of them that I liked. But uhh... the biggest thing I keep in mind when drawing is to keep things super simple! So face shapes get simplified down to basic shapes like circles or rectangles, I avoid using more than one color for shading if I can, and at this point I almost never draw feet. It's a little bit like doing basic framework anatomy (where you use boxes and tubes to build up the structure) without actually adding more detail to it? If that makes sense?
If there's anything more specific you're curious I might be able to go more in depth about it, but unfortunately most of me finding my style was just a LOT of trial and error rather than tutorials. Sorry I can't be more helpful! ;A;

Gosh I love GUMI a lot and she's so precious in your style! I was really excited
when I first heard of her coming out a long time ago and that she shared a name
with me. She has such a nice voice, i'm always sad she gets left out in games because
she wasn't made by Crypton. My favourite is her hair and you captured that perfectly!

I got attached to her too since she was the first vocaloid I actually knew about before she got released. I was super defensive of her when she first came out and people kinda hated her too haha.
I do really wish she could be in the games though. ;-;

No problem! She is, I love how she's cutesy but also has a tomboyish
feel to her. I remember that! She had so much hate when she was first
coming out and the first year or so. I was so upset, because I don't even
recall other vocaloids getting hate like that.
I do too, I do know that yesterday I discovered that she has her own Project
Diva like spin off where it's just her though. It makes her seem so lonely. I mean
it's great she has her own game, but it'd be nice for her to have other vocaloids
to hang out with.

People just seem to get really critical of new vocaloids for some reason. It's pretty dumb, especially when it's over super minor things. I know that she got a lot of hate even just for her color scheme.
Yeah, I wish they had at least included Gackupo or Lily since they're the same company. I guess they probably don't have the same budget as Crypton though since the stages were a lot simpler too. :C

They do, I don't even know why. If they don't like them then they
don't need to listen to them or such. There are many more vocaloids
they can go to instead.
Yeah, it would have been so much nicer, but I guess they're not as
successful as Crypton so they have less to work with. I just wish the
two companies would just work together more.

Miku is pretty insanely popular so I think at this point it's would be impossible for Crypton to make anything with her and not turn a profit haha. I hope the first Gumi game was successful, it would be nice to see a second game if there was improvement. But I'd also like to see more collaborations between the two.

they would rather complain about it to people who actually liked what

Yes, and her popularity is spreading all across the world. I'm hoping that
the Project Diva with Gumi's cameo does well so that they decide to do
more collaborations and include more characters.

With the ridiculous amount of vocaloids that exist now it would be lovely to see more collaborative projects! I guess it's probably hard to get more than one company to work on something for financial reasons though.

It would, and to have the other vocaloids get more attention too.
Like Lily, IA, Nekomura. They would probably argue over which company
gets more revenue from their own Vocaloid's popularity.

Ahh I'd love to see IA songs especially in one of the games since she seems to have gotten pretty popular recently. I'd kill to be able to play some of the Kagerou project or Bookmark of Demise project songs. <333

SO CUTE!!!!! Gumi's my second favorite loid behind Luka, I don't even know if Luka's design is what I favor over Gumi or if it's just how in love I am with Luka's voice pfft. She looks so precious in your style and the pose is adorable!!!

My favorites are actually Gumi and then Luka! They both have kind of mellow? voices, which is something I like when it comes to vocaloids. I think a lot of the reason I'm so attached to Gumi is because she was the first vocaloid released once I had been in the fandom long enough to actually know about ahead of time.

That's so funny! I agree they both have the most tolerable voices I'll be honest in the wrong hands some of the Loids can almost be painful to listen to. It's funny that you mention that about Gumi because that was one of the reasons I became so enamored with her as well, actually, funnily, I am pretty sure it was Gumi, gosh this was so long ago... But they actually held an official contest for fans to DESIGN the new upcoming Vocaloid! I am pretty damn sure it was Gumi, a now lost friend of mine and I collaborated to design the upcoming new Loid, we ended up not winning obviously HAHA I think I'd be kind of, you know, big, if that were the case x/D But it was so much fun! I have grown distant from the fandom in recent years I dunno if they have done a similar contest since then..... Have you ever made an Utauloid before?

Yeeeeah that's definitely true. There's only one or two producers that tune Rin in a way that I can listen to, which is a shame because there are a lot of rin songs I like. (I've been downloading utaite covers of most of my vocaloid music lately so I guess it's kind of a moot point anyways)
Hmm yeah I remember what you're talking about! I don't remember which it was either though. I haven't been too up to date either since there are so many companies making vocaloids now, it's a bit much to keep up with! I still follow a lot of producers pretty religiously but I haven't had the time to find too many new ones. I think there have been a couple, but I really don't remember.
I was in a vocaloid collab comic thing at one point so I have a utauloid design, but unfortunately I never got around to recording a voice for her so she's just eternally stuck as a fanloid I guess. >_<
