Description
A week ago I finished a commissioned portrait I started at the beginning of january this year. I still call it a commission 'cause I've been asked to draw this young "special" girl, but it actually became a present since I decided not to be paid for it.She was my colleague's girlfriend's sister.
I don't have much to say about it, except that
Sometimes Angels come on Earth to remind us what the true meaning of Love is.

tra non molto ritornerò online con un sito tutto mio e non so se sarà uguale a "ilRitratto.net" ma ospiterà comunque i miei disegni (sarà forse più un blog personale).
Sì anche in questo ritratto per i capelli scuri ho usato la matita acquerellabile nera, passata sopra ad una matita credo 4B (ora non ricordo bene).

Ciao Luca, ho conosciuto i tuoi ritratti per caso tramite Internet un anno fa, trovando il tuo sito "il ritratto.net" e ho iniziato a fare ritratti a matita seguendo la tua bellissime tecnica. Ho letto tutte le indicazioni che hai dato e ho scoperto un mondo sconosciuto...Ti faccio i miei complimenti vivissimi per la bellezza straordinaria delle tue opere e ti ringrazio per aver messo a conoscenza della tua tecnica così tante persone tramite il tuo sito. E' un vero peccato che tutto sia andato perso...accidenti!!..Mi sono collegata qualche settimana fa e ho fatto questa triste scoperta... Spero che sarà ripristinato presto...Per me era un punto di riferimento... Vorrei chiederti una cosa se posso...In questo ritratto (Ilaria) i capelli sono molto scuri. Come li hai fatti? Con la matita nera acquarellabile? O con una 8 o 9B? Ricdordo che tu non amavi le grafiti così morbide perché danno un effetto lucido...Mi puoi dire cosa devo fare? Ho iniziato un ritratto con capelli scuri, ma con la matita normale dare l'uniformità e l'intensità desiderata é eterno!!...Grazie per la tua risposta. Ciao! Monica

Wow, I absolutely love this piece! Your shading looks so soft and smooth, and perfectly blended, it's seamless! How in the world do you get it to look like that? Is it the paper?

I use brushes to blend graphite. They allow great control over the shading and delicate effects.

I'd give anything to be able to draw like this. This is pretty much on par with many of Shinoda's stuff (which I'm a HUGE fan of) - so take that as a compliment for sure!!!!
Smooth and overall flawless. I don't know how you drew this, but you did it somehow and it's a work of art.

I think around 45 hours distributed in some months working on it not everyday of course and not for many hours each time.
Here in my scraps you can see all the WIP's about it, as you can see it needed several steps from beginning to end

I have another job, I don't draw portraits for a living. Of course I don't think I would charge for the number of hours but for the final result people would expect from me.

There is a beautiful softness to this. It may have taken four months but it is well worth it.

I have no idea how I missed this - haha - she looks beautiful. Your work is always to perfectly smooth, I don't know how you do it, no matter how hard I try, I always end up with a fingerprint on my drawing SOMEWHERE - argh! Hehe. Anyway, this is gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous
